JOB SUMMARY:The Process Improvement Engineer/Specialist drives operational excellence by identifying and implementing opportunities to improve productivity, quality, cost, and service. Using Lean, Six Sigma, AI-enabled analytics, and data-driven problem solving, this role leads continuous improvement initiatives and supports deployment of the Magnera Operating System (MOS) across U.S. and Canadian operations. This role is a leadership development opportunity with a target of 2-3 years supporting key projects and initiatives with a path to increased responsibilities/positions.
Responsibilities
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyze operational and production data to identify waste, variation, and bottlenecks.
- Lead Kaizen events, DMAIC projects, and structured problem-solving activities.
- Develop current and future-state process maps and implement improvement plans.
- Apply Lean tools including 5S, standard work, visual management, and daily management systems.
- Develop SOPs and standardized processes to improve performance and consistency.
- Monitor KPIs and validate improvements through data analysis and SPC.
- Partner with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to implement sustainable improvements.
- Support project pipeline development, project chartering, and benefit tracking.
- Support implementation and continuous improvement of the Magnera Operating System (MOS)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience; nonwovens, paper, or film manufacturing preferred.
- Experience applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt preferred; Black Belt a plus and will be expected to achieve in role)
- Proficiency in process mapping, root cause analysis, SPC, and data analytics.
- Experience with Power BI, AI-enabled analytics, and/or digital tools preferred.
- Strong project management, communication
