As a MS&T Process Engineering Lead, you will play a key role in optimizing, improving, and implementing new or revised production processes and technologies for the efficient and cost-effective mass production of products. This role will be pivotal in enhancing manufacturing processes, maintaining high product quality, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
In this role, a typical day will include:
- Optimize and improve production operations by focusing on sequencing production activities, specifying procedures, and adapting machinery to suit factory conditions
- Drive process improvements in manufacturing processes to enhance yield and support quality initiatives
- Conduct tests at all stages of production, manage control over variables, and troubleshoot production issues
- Provide technical guidance to product stewards to maximize equipment and manufacturing efficiency
- Ensure that all production processes and procedures adhere to regulatory standards
- Serve as a subject matter expert for the manufacturing process, particularly for intraocular lenses (IOLs), using technical methods to optimize manufacturing
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) to address quality and performance issues, particularly related to Critical Process Parameters (CPP) and defect control
- Assess the impact of material issues, specification changes, and process modifications on manufacturing
- Create, execute, and continuously improve study and validation protocols to support production goals
- Provide expert support and guidance on key processes and global support as needed
- Prepare technical analyses, reports, and white papers on critical process parameters
- Assist with technology transfer from R&D or sister sites
- Support BCM (business continuity management) for single-source processes (SSP) in Batam
- Develop and supervise direct reports through training, fostering collaboration, and preparing team members for higher responsibilities
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Oversee and ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance in your department and support other HSE activities as assigned
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership and team management skill
- Experience with RCA and familiarity with CPP
- Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards
- Proficiency in English
