Summary

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with experience in Composites Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and controlling manufacturing processes used to fabricate composite components.  This role ensures consistent product quality, reduced process variability, increases throughput, and supports continuous improvement activities across our company.  The candidate should be able to review technical data and generate technical summaries to be shared with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve potential manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and and improve product quality (eg/ VARTM, infusion, prepreg...).
  • Create process parameters and control plans.
  • Conduct Design of Experiments, capability studies, and CT analyses. 
  • Conduct root cause analysis and troubleshoot process issues to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Develop and implement process improvements, including design changes, equipment modifications, and process control enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, WIs, visual aids, and training materials.
  • Prepare technical reports that document process changes, test results, and quality issues.
  • Analyze technical data and generate technical summaries for senior stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, service, quality, and R&D, to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest industry trends and advancements in process engineering.
  • Provide technical support for field team
  • Work in the filed as needed to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide technical support for production issues and process changes.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
  • Participate in new product development and launch activities.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, materials science, or a related field.
  • 2-7 years of experience in a process engineering or manufacturing role.
  • Experience with composite materials.
  • Strong technical writing skills and experience in writing technical reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong knowledge of wind turbine manufacturing processes and equipment.
  • Knowledge of APQP4Wind.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.

Desired qualifications

  • Previous relevant experience, preferably in the wind industry, but candidates with translatable experience are encouraged to apply.
