Job Summary:
Equinox India is seeking a capable and experienced Process Engineering Executor who can add near-immediate value to project teams. This role is intended for engineers who can independently execute process engineering scope with minimal ramp-up and confidently interface with multidisciplinary teams and clients across Canada, Australia, USA. The role goes beyond task-based execution and is focused on independent project delivery, ownership, accountability, and client-facing contribution.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently execute assigned process engineering scope on EPCM projects with minimal supervision and limited ramp-up.
- Take end-to-end ownership of process deliverables, ensuring technical quality, schedule adherence, and alignment with project objectives.
- Perform advanced process simulations and modelling using Aspen HYSYS or Honeywell UniSim, with the ability to validate and troubleshoot models.
- Develop, check, and issue key process engineering deliverables, including:
- Heat & Material Balances
- Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Process Design Basis / Process Design Reports
- Equipment and line sizing calculations
- Equipment process datasheets
- PSV sizing and relief system documentation
- Participate actively and confidently in P&ID reviews, HAZOP studies, and safety reviews, representing the process discipline.
- Review vendor documents, datasheets, calculations, and drawings; raise technical queries and provide recommendations.
- Interface effectively with project managers, discipline leads, and clients to clarify scope, resolve issues, and maintain alignment.
- Coordinate closely with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical) to ensure integrated design delivery.
- Support execution in workshare environments, demonstrating accountability for assigned scope regardless of location.
- Identify design risks early and proactively propose practical engineering solutions.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong foundation in oil & gas process engineering fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with process simulation tools (Aspen HYSYS and/or Honeywell UniSim).
- Ability to develop and review Heat & Material Balances, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Experience with equipment sizing, line sizing, and PSV calculations.
- Practical understanding of process safety, including participation in P&ID reviews and HAZOPs.
- Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and EPCM engineering practices.
- Ability to independently execute assigned scope with minimal supervision.
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for deliverables.
- Effective time management and prioritization across multiple projects.
- Focus on quality, operability, and safety in design execution.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced EPCM and workshare environments.
- Ability to interface effectively with multidisciplinary teams, project managers, and clients.
- Client-focused mindset with commitment to delivering value.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word.
- Experience working within a workshare or global delivery model.
- Prior experience supporting projects through multiple phases (FEED, detailed engineering, execution).
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
- 10-15 years of experience as a Process Engineer in the oil & gas industry.
- Prior experience working in an EPCM environment.
