As Process Engineer in the Cleveland facility, you are responsible for providing engineering support to production processes within the plant. Your responsibility takes on many forms and requires interaction with a multitude of different departments including technical, maintenance, planning, QA, RM procurement, and IT. You will have some interaction with the operators and supervisors in each building to help define, initiate, and implement projects that improve the overall process from a safety, ergonomic, quality, and/or productivity standpoint. You will report to the Lead Operations Engineer and be based out of the Cleveland Facility.
Responsibilities:
Support Departmental EHS Initiatives (CORITY, PSM, Audits, etc.)
Perform Process Optimization/Cycle Time Improvements
Participate in and Support Department Related Kaizen Events
Troubleshoot Equipment/Process Issues – will likely involve some evening or weekend phone support
Execute/Improve Root Cause Investigation Process & Implement Meaningful Corrective Actions
Formula Maintenance
Develop Standard Work and Assist with Operator Training
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
This position requires a broad understanding of engineering systems and chemical processes along with 3 or more years’ experience in various positions, with focus on manufacturing processes, batch paint processing experience preferred.
Candidate must demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and managing complexity.
Working knowledge of pumps, mills, rotational equipment, piping as well as material movement desired.
Experience in initiating investigations and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of industry regulatory requirements, including EH&S requirements/responsibilities such as PSM a plus.
Lean/6 sigma and Toyota manufacturing principles experience a plus.
