The Mosaic Process Engineer is responsible for developing and interpreting process models and simulations for a direct air capture system and using the data to make informed process design decisions. This involves initial prototype designs as well as the scale up to commercial systems.
 

As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborating with a cross-functional team to develop and optimize direct air capture systems

  • Developing and analyzing software simulations and validating against empirical results

  • Coordinating with a team of modeling experts and providing direction on next steps and cases to analyze

  • Developing and evaluating process design options to optimize plant KPIs

  • Specifying equipment and processes for optimized integration into customer systems

  • Performing risk and safety assessments

  • Providing process documentation (including P&IDs and PFDs) and developing standard operating procedures


 

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical/mechanical engineering or other relevant field from an accredited university or college and minimum of 3 years of experience in process industry

  • Advanced knowledge of thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluids principals such as heat and mass balance equations

  • Experienced with process modeling and simulation software such as Honeywell UniSim and HTRI

  • Experience with specifying mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and controls

  • Experience with gas compression and purification technologies
