Key Responsibilities
Your role in our mission includes the following responsibilities:
- Case Leadership: Drive high-stakes litigation from intake to final decree/judgment, including contested divorces, complex SAPCR cases, and protective orders.
- EPG Litigation & Drafting: Lead probate litigation matters such as contested guardianships, will contests, trust disputes, and breaches of fiduciary duty while also drafting comprehensive estate plans.
- Courtroom Advocacy: Command the courtroom in the Texas surrounding counties, conducting First-Chair trials, hearings, mediations, and depositions with confidence.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute sophisticated litigation tactics and negotiation strategies for dynamic, fast-paced dockets.
- Client Counsel: Provide results-driven, compassionate representation to help clients navigate their toughest life chapters.
- Regional Flexibility: Maintain a presence and handle a diverse caseload across all firm office locations as needed.
- Administrative Excellence: Supervise the work of assigned paralegals and support staff to ensure precision in pleadings, discovery, and document drafting.
Skills & Qualifications
- Licensure: Active membership in the Texas State Bar (minimum 2 years licensed).
- Experience: 5+ years of dedicated experience in both Estate Planning, Probate, and Guardianship litigation.
- Courtroom Presence: A proven record of success in the courtroom and a fearless approach to high-impact litigation.
- Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to remain empathetic in highly emotional situations.
- Technology: Proficient in Clio, TxDoc, Google Suite, and modern e-filing systems.
- Mobility: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel between firm office locations.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) is considered a strong plus.
