About the Role

Maleda Tech is seeking an experienced Privacy Program Manager for a contract engagement supporting a leading technology organization. In this role, you'll conduct privacy impact assessments and machine learning (ML) privacy reviews, partnering with cross-functional teams to document how new features and services handle data.

You'll sit at the center of privacy-by-design work — translating complex technical data flows into clear, defensible documentation, surfacing risks early, and helping ensure products launch responsibly. This is a hands-on, collaborative role ideal for someone who thrives on managing multiple workstreams and driving privacy assessments from intake through approval.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with cross-functional technical teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science) to gather information on data flows, processing activities, and technical safeguards.
  • Conduct privacy and ML reviews of submitted information, working alongside privacy subject matter experts to identify, assess, and mitigate privacy risks.
  • Support the development and refinement of privacy documentation — including end-to-end data flow diagrams and operational controls — preparing materials for formal review and approval.
  • Manage multiple documents across various stages of review, tracking progress and driving timely completion.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and privacy teams to finalize and deliver required privacy documentation.
  • Monitor for and identify compliance and operational risks throughout the assessment process.
  • Coordinate with the privacy incident response team to triage and escalate privacy-related requests as needed.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in privacy operations, compliance, or data governance within a technology or enterprise environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex privacy and technical concepts for diverse audiences, including product teams, legal, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of global data protection laws and frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, LGPD, PIPEDA) and their application in enterprise settings.
  • Proven track record conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and supporting privacy-by-design initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with legal, product, engineering, and security teams to operationalize privacy requirements across the product life cycle.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret technical and business processes, identify privacy risks, and recommend practical, scalable mitigation strategies.
  • Strong program management skills, with 5+ years leading initiatives from planning through execution, including stakeholder reporting and risk tracking.
  • Skilled at influencing without authority and building consensus across cross-functional teams in a global, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing multiple workstreams and documentation efforts simultaneously, with strong organizational and prioritization abilities.

Preferred

  • Familiarity with privacy management tools (e.g., OneTrust, TrustArc, BigID) and collaboration platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Asana).
  • Professional certifications such as AIGP, CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT.

Education

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
