UI Design Consultant (Design System Management), Budapest

We are expanding our design team and have an exciting opportunity for a UI Design Consultant, who will play a key role in shaping the design system and visual direction of our project. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining our pattern standards and design system, ensuring consistency across our UI components. In addition to delivering exceptional UI for the project, you will lead and mentor the local design team, guiding them to deliver high-quality, visually appealing, and user-focused designs. While UX isn't the primary focus, a strong understanding of user-centric design is essential to elevate the project. 

Design System Leadership

• Define and maintain the design system vision, strategy, and roadmap. 
• Be the voice for cutting edge design systems methods, educating the team of designers on what good is 
• Create and oversee design components, patterns, and documentation to ensure a cohesive user experience across all products

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with UX/UI designers, product managers, developers, and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure alignment with business objectives. 
• Facilitate workshops and design reviews to promote best practices and innovation. 

User-Centered Approach

• Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate the effectiveness of the design system. 
• Analyze user feedback to continuously improve the design system based on user needs and industry trends. 

Mentorship and Training

• Provide guidance and support to design teams in utilizing the design system effectively. 
• Develop and deliver training sessions to educate team members on design system principles and tools. 

Documentation and Governance

• Create comprehensive documentation and guidelines for the design system, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for all teams. 
• Establish governance processes to maintain the quality and relevance of the design system over time. 

Required Experience and Skills:

• 8+ years of experience in UI Design / Visual Design.
• Hands-on experience in designing and prototyping for responsive websites, mobile applications or mobile-web applications.
• Proven expertise in developing and maintaining Design Systems.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills, confident in presenting your aesthetic vision and your rationale backend design decisions.
• Demonstrated intuitive and engaging UI design with simple clean style and a pixel-level attention to detail via a portfolio.
• Demonstrated fluency with Figma.
• Ideally you have experience with retail banking projects 
• B.S./M.S. in Communication Design, Graphic Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, or related field.
