Principal Systems Engineer
Technically Lead, develop, and motivate engineering teams responsible for the System design and development of Business Jet programs. You will be responsible for defining, executing the technical content by working with high performing System engineers. You will participate in all phases of Program development and drive high impact growth projects.
Develop, mentor and inspire engineers who work to develop innovative products and technologies. Influence & challenge engineer teams to effectively solve complex engineering problems.

Responsibilities
Essential Skills:
This role will be primarily responsible for
- Execution Excellence
- Technical Lead for a project, including project’s overall technical solution, system level performance, configuration management, quality, and certification
- Managing System requirements, controlling scope, and executing baseline change management
- Leading critical stage gates and objectives of programs viz., Technical Concept Review (TCR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Phase gate exits, SOI/SR (Supplier Review) Audits and Customer & Cert authority reviews as required.
- Define and drive the ARP4754A/B practices across the programs by demonstrating strong adherence and compliance with the same
- Responsible to ensure Programs are compliance to TSO standards (TSO C-165a/b, C-195b) for the applicable products and meet System/Software Certification Requirements
- Participates in Systems and Software architecture, Requirement and Design reviews.
- Drive strong System/Software Architectures and reduce the integration cost of inserting the products into program
- Strategically own and drive key initiatives viz., System Engineering Improvements (content development plans, Integrated Verification Test Plans (IVTP), Use Cases, System Test Integration Checkouts) and influence stakeholders on early adaption and incremental outcomes.
- Drive efficiencies across the COEs and drive productivity
- Strategically own and drive key initiatives viz., Systems Test Integration Testing, Model based development and influence stakeholders on early adaption and incremental outcomes.
- Driving strong Basis of Estimates (BOE) across each of the Quotation estimates of responsible program for the content by working through PEs, Systems Leads, functional leads and technical managers as required.
Provides hands-on engineering support, mentor and groom engineers on the programs and their technical career path
- Technology and Business
- Responsible for System technical solution development (Design & interface definition). Demonstrate thought leadership with focus on System architecture with increased reusability and drive reduction in program cost.
- Establishes strong working relationships with key stakeholders (Product Managers, Chiefs, Human Factors) to drive growth through NPI’s (New Product Introduction).
- Engages in software architecture, design and requirement reviews as a key input provider, first level approver.
Drive robust plan and pipeline of rapid prototypes for the near-term risk avoidance to the program and medium-term features which bring revenue potential through POC (Proof of Concept), POVs (Point of View) / Agile model.
- Strategic Impact
- Works with Engineering Managers to develop capability in Systems expertise
- Collaborate effectively as required on High Growth Regions pursuits, participate in industry/customer visits, share knowledge gained through conference participation etc.
- Imbibes and role model Honeywell Aerospace behaviors and values and act as change agent.
- Supporting Strategic Plan revenue targets through competitive intelligence and product line software architecture frameworks
- Driving technology initiatives and feature insertion per M&PM (Marketing & Product Management) Displays programs roadmap & strategies
Skill Requirement
- B.E/B. Tech/M.E/M.Tech in Electric/Electronics/Computers/Aerospace Engineering
- Minimum 20+ years of experience working in various application areas supporting avionics functions
- Experience working in Systems Architecture, Requirements, Design, software development and reviews. Working experience and Knowledge of Displays Product lines is preferred
- Have experience in performing Systems Engineering leadership roles on the programs with accountability.
- Expertise working with Aerospace standards, ARP4754A/B and DO178B/C
- Possess good understanding of business objectives and more importantly the ability to interact with our customers (internal and external).
- Able to identify and manage risks and opportunities with demonstrated capability to manage multiple projects
- Must have excellent communication, collaboration and networking skills
- Passion to explore opportunities and solutions
