About the Role
This role will be responsible for Software development equipped on Infotainment system for Japanese and Global OEM customers. Collaborate with Development team in Japan, Program manager in Global team, global development team in Connected Car division and Finance and Legal team if necessary.
Responsible for design, implement and validation of Software based on architecture.
Your Team
This position title is Principal Software Engineer belongs to software development team in SBU-IC delivery APAC team.
It is required to report directly to Software Manager in Domestic team and Program Manager in Global Program Management team as needed.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for Software development of Japan specific feature equipped on IVI system and analysis issues during development
- Communicate with customer closely to recognize and understand detail of issues from customer
- Summarize progress of development and fixing issues then report to Software project lead
- Prepare and support certification activity for Japan specific feature like VICS/ETC and DTV
- Communicate with Finance and legal team to manage royalty for VICS/ETC and DTV related
- Work closely with customer and provide technical support in a timely manner.
- Communicate with authorities (VICS center, ITS-TEA, HIDO, TRMP and so on) to clarify the requirements/regulations/standards and so on.
- Communicate with Tier2 supplier or other Tier1 supplier as well as customer to clarify the interface and responsibility in the program.
- Join working groups relevant to Japan specific feature (VICS specification WG, DSRC technical WG, and so on)
- Find the right person from internal/external stakeholder and communicate with them to clarify what to implement and how to implement/test it in the platform.
What You Need
- BSCS, BSEE or equivalent minimum requirement
- 5+ years of experience in software development for embedded systems in C/C++
- 3+ years of experience in C++11/14/17 desired
- 1+ years of experience in C++ template metaprogramming desired
- 3+ years of experience in object-oriented software design for embedded systems
- Normal driving license desired
- Software development of Japan navigation experience desired;
- Advanced object-oriented experience including frameworks desired;
- HMI/user interface software development experience a plus;
- Software development on 32bit microcontroller such as ARM core experience desired;
- Real-time OS experience desired.
- Software development on Android experience a plus;
- Software development experience to use UML and Agile process a plus
- Microsoft Visual Studio development experience desired;
- USB, I2C, UART, SPI and other peripheral interface experience a plus;
- Experience developing and debugging object-oriented software in a real-time, embedded, multi-processor, multi-interface environment desired.
What is Nice to Have
- Knowledge and experience to use progress and issue management tool like Doors, Elvis, JIRA and so on
- Knowledge about VICS/ETC and Japan DTV system
- Knowledge or experience to handle certification program or homologation
- Knowledge or experience to manage software development to use Agile and Scrum
- Knowledge of ISO/TS16949 (QMS)
