About the Role
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will support the EU System Engineering team in the area of Key Management and Provisioning. You will be responsible for designing secure key provisioning architectures and driving integration and test strategies. This role involves close collaboration across software domains, system engineering, industrialization, and production departments. It combines technical leadership with cross-functional teamwork to deliver robust, scalable solutions for complex systems.
What You Will Do
- Design robust key handling concepts and ensure alignment with system and software testing strategies, as well as integration approaches
- Develop software architecture for applications and modules required for secure key material handling and storage
- Participate in RFI/RFQ evaluation for Harman customers
- Clarify requirements and designs with customers and internally with system/software architects from other domains and the production department
- Create and maintain architecture documents (HDD/CDD)
- Support activities related to Cyber Security and Functional Safety processes
- Ensure compliance with Harman and customer software engineering processes and standards (e.g., ASPICE, SAFe)
- Drive progress in collaboration with project leaders, technical experts, and functional owners, providing oversight and mentorship
- Collaborate with domains and departments involved in Key Provisioning (e.g. Cyber Security, Production, Key Management System, Project Management).
What You Need
- Bachelor or Master degree in computer science or a related field
- Experience in embedded systems and automotive environments
- Proficiency in C/C++
- Experience in software design and development for Linux
- Experience in working with software modeling tools (Enterprise Architect is mandatory)
- Basic experience with production processes and diagnostics (UDS)
- Foundational knowledge about Cryptography
- Knowledge of Cyber Security concepts (e.g. Secure Boot, TEE, Key Provisioning)
- Familiarity with automotive and industrial Cyber Security standards (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE WP.29, …)
- Familiarity with trusted execution environments
- Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP networking, and IPC mechanisms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities
- Self-driven, autonomous, and systematic way of working
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
Bonus Points if You Have
- Experience in software design and development for QNX
- Experience in software design and development for Android
- Experience developing systems with NVidia, Qualcomm, or Samsung SoCs
- Experience in (Classic/Adaptive) Autosar
- Competence in docker containerization
- Experience in System and Software FMEA
- Experience in Functional Safety and familiarity with its standards (ISO 26262, ISO 21448, …)
