Principal Software Engineer

Salary: $165,000-195,000

We’re looking to expand our team across the board. 

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer who is excited about building and pushing the boundaries of software to operate spacecrafts. Our software is a modern (React/TypeScript, C# .NET) web-based application which operators use to monitor and task space vehicles. You’ll be responsible for working with engineers, operators, and customers to understand requirements and implement features, bug fixes, and other improvements. Prior space-industry experience is not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop key user-facing features to support both current and future missions 
• Ability to mentor other engineers and help guide the technical landscape
• Translate designs and requirements into high quality code.
• Build reusable components, design systems and front-end libraries for future use.
• Develop internal and external facing API’s.
• Engineer algorithms and business logic to power a rapidly evolving application.
• Write unit tests and documentation.
• Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
• Participate in technical design for new features and technologies.
• Participate in code reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 12+ years of software engineering.
• Expertise in C#
• Multithreading / parallel processing, optimization, thread-safe architecture
• Experience with Git.
• Thorough knowledge of API’s.
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Travel up to 10%

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer science degree.
• Deep understanding of low-level C# programming
• Expertise in advanced C# concepts such as the CLR, memory management, and garbage collection
• Strong Experience with SQL 
• React using TypeScript.
• Experience with modern security practices.
• Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance
