Principal Software Engineer – CommBank Health
Do work that matters
At CommBank, we’re building the future of payments and digital experiences for critical industries across Australia.
Within our Payments & Acceptance domain, CommBank Health plays a unique role at the intersection of payments and healthcare — enabling seamless claiming and payment experiences between healthcare providers, insurers, and government services.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the technical direction of this platform while remaining hands-on in its evolution. You’ll shape how we modernise our engineering environment, uplift capability, and bring strategic platforms in-house.
This is your opportunity to define strategy and execute it in a high-impact domain that directly supports real-world healthcare transactions.
See yourself in our team
You’ll join CommBank Health, a specialised engineering team sitting within the broader Payments & Customer Present ecosystem.
Our platform supports critical healthcare payment and claiming journeys across Australia, including:
In-terminal healthcare claiming and payments
Integration with Medicare, private health funds and government services
eCommerce-based healthcare transactions
Payment terminals and customer-present experiences
With multiple squads across platform and application engineering, the team is on a journey to uplift engineering maturity and modernise its core platforms.
You’ll work closely with Engineering Managers, Chapter Leads, Architects and senior engineers to drive technical alignment across the domain.
