The Role
Object Computing Inc. in St. Louis, Missouri seeks a full-time Principal Software Engineer (OpenDDS) maintain influence over project direction and act as an expert resource; consult with stakeholders to develop software solutions and participate in continuous learning; provide high-level guidance and mentorship on agile practices, code reviews, testing methodologies, and code storage; ensure project success, drive processes, and evaluate strategic tools; recommend and evaluate software solutions, identifying pros and cons; prioritize software issues, lead open-source contributions, and guide solution design; create and deliver presentations, mentor engineers, and contribute to OCI practices; and drive the development and roadmap of OpenDDS.
Position requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field and 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or closely related occupation in the software engineering industry to include 5 years of experience with OpenDDS, ACE/TAO, and working in embedded and real-time operating systems.
