As a Principal Software Engineer in the Lending, Pricing & ESG Crew, you will provide technical leadership across the strategic platforms that underpin Institutional Lending, Pricing and ESG capabilities. You will play a key role in shaping the engineering direction for core Lending platforms and supporting services, driving platform modernisation, AI-enabled engineering practices and resilient, scalable solutions that support the bank's lending operations.
You will bring deep technical expertise, strategic thinking and engineering leadership to help teams deliver high-quality technology safely at scale while partnering with Product, Architecture, Risk and business stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes.

The Lending, Pricing & ESG Crew delivers and supports technology that enables the end-to-end lifecycle of Institutional Lending. Our platforms support loan origination, pricing, servicing, amendments, settlements and ongoing portfolio management while integrating with enterprise customer, finance, risk and regulatory systems.
The crew is responsible for the strategic evolution and operational excellence of platforms including LoanIQ and DPX, while building modern integration services and automation capabilities that simplify lending processes and improve banker and customer experiences.
Reporting to the Crew Tech Lead - Institutional Lending, Pricing and ESG, you'll work alongside architects, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders to modernise critical lending technology using cloud-native engineering practices and AI-assisted software development.
In this role, you will:
Lead the technical direction for strategic Lending, Pricing and ESG platforms.
Provide architectural leadership across core Lending platforms and the surrounding integration ecosystem.
Design scalable, secure and resilient services across APIs, backend platforms and enterprise integrations.
Work closely with the Institutional Banking business to ensure the technology we deliver supports their customer outcomes
Champion engineering excellence including AI-enabled SDLC, DevSecOps, observability, quality engineering and automation.
Lead modernisation initiatives that simplify legacy technology and improve operational resilience.
Build strong working relationships with the suppliers of our core platforms
Mentor senior engineers and uplift engineering capability across the crew.
Together, we will build technology that supports lending decisions, pricing strategies and ESG outcomes while improving operational efficiency, regulatory compliance and customer experience.

Experience delivering technology for lending, capital markets or financial services platforms.
Experience modernising and integrating enterprise vendor platforms, including Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.
Experience with LoanIQ or comparable enterprise lending platforms is highly regarded.
Strong understanding of enterprise integration, operational resilience and regulated environments.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
