Applications are invited for the position of Principal Quality Engineer. This position is to be based in Beijing China and is offered on local terms and conditions. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

 

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION:

Quality Engineers are involved in requirements analysis, test planning, writing test cases/scripts, test case automation, and execution of all testing (which may include application integration, system, system/network integration, and acceptance testing) required to ensure that the software is of the highest quality. After the project is released to production, Quality Engineers are also involved to provide support to our internal customer, the technical operation group as well as service management. The job also requires the testbed setup and maintenance as testbed owner.  Besides, this role also plays an important part of internal process audit and improvement to create efficiencies.

 

 

JOB SCOPE :

  • Typically work in a Contribution team since we are product led now.

  • Works on projects/changes, typically requires a general understanding of integrated system and/or of at least one development environment.

  • Accountable for the quality of own work, delivered within agreed procedures and timeframes and focused on internal and/or external customer needs.

  • Works independently within defined parameters, taking ownership of problems within own area of knowledge.

  • Decisions taken are made within guidelines.

  • Makes recommendations for process improvements to immediate manager.

  • Some roles are responsible for limited co-ordination of the work of others.

  • Works under general supervision, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum company standards and end-user requirements. 

  • Develops scripts and test cases, tests modules of larger software products or smaller stand-alone software products to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Documents all problems and works to resolve them. Reports progress on problem resolution to management. Implements pre-determined improvements to current procedures and reports on success of changes. Performs work flow analysis and recommends quality improvements

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree holder in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related discipline

  • Minimum of 6 years testing or other development experience

  • Proven expertise with software testing methodologies and tools

  • Excellent English language skill and good communication.

  • Working experience with Windows server and/or Unix/Linux

  • Experience of formal software development lifecycle and good knowledge on process such as CMM/CMMI, agile and scrum

  • Good awareness of customer service and be active team player

  • In-depth analysis capability is a preference

  • Programming languages skills, i.e., Shell/Python/Perl/Java is a preference

  • Experience on Networking, TCP/IP is a preference

  • Experience of automation test & performance test

  • Knowledge on financial market is a preference

  • Knowledge of DB especially Oracle DB is a preference

  • Experience in Project Management is a preference

  • Experience of AWS, Azure and cloud-based testing is a preference

  • Be curios for learning new things, like AI.

  • Good communication skills
