Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Principal Project Engineer with proven experience in gas‑turbine engines, nacelle integration, or powerplant systems. This role supports high‑visibility projects for the HTF7000 turbofan engine family. If you excel at driving cross‑functional alignment, resolving complex field and production issues, and leading engineering teams toward robust outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to influence and improve a best‑in‑class propulsion product line.


As a Principal Project Engineer, you’ll partner with world-class engineering, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and customer teams to maintain fleet performance and ensure seamless propulsion system integration throughout the operational lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a sustaining engineering team responsible for production support, fleet reliability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee planning, prioritization, and execution of projects to meet performance, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Drive cross‑functional coordination to resolve technical issues spanning design, analysis, test, manufacturing, and field operations.
  • Partner with aircraft OEMs to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and maintain alignment with program objectives.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on technical deliverables, quality assurance, and schedule recovery; support trade studies and design improvements.
  • Lead root‑cause investigations for field reliability, in‑service events, and production escapes; ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Own cost accounts and manage budgets, forecasts, resource fill rates, and earned value performance.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. 
  • Communicate team status, risks, recommendations, and recovery plans to leadership and customers; support formal program reviews.
Qualifications

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering or mathematics
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in design, development and/or test of gas turbine engines, nacelle systems, engine control systems or other complex mechanical systems
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methods (e.g. Microsoft Project, Agile Scrum/Kanban, Earned Value Management System)
