Job Description:
Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Principal Project Control Manager to lead a highly visible growth portfolio. In this role you will be responsible for managing a team of project control specialists and compiling and reviewing the top-level financial performance and forecasts across the portfolio of Technical Direction Letters. Working directly with program managers, you will provide guidance, direction, and resolution for complex financial challenges. As the project control lead, you will coordinate staffing requirements, supervise project control activities, and train personnel.
What You'll Be Doing:
Implementing standard tracking tools and coordinate deliverables and tasking within the project control team
Maintaining weekly updates of financial status and running the meeting with PM and Technical Direction Letter leads
Interfacing with clients, attending regular meetings, and providing financial reports
Leading in the analysis, evaluation, and development of monthly and quarterly forecasts
Creating engineering cost estimates for incoming Technical Direction Letters
Coordinating staffing requirements, assigning and supervising project work activities, and training personnel
Completing performance reviews and provide personnel development
Accumulating and accessing historical data for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting
Customizing project control systems to meet specific project requirements
Performing other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
4-year degree in Finance or Business Management or equivalent work experience
8+ years of Federal Government Project Controls experience
Familiarity with industry practices
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, financial modeling)
Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Hyperion, Adaptive Insights, SAP BPC)
Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Knowledge of project accounting and earned value management (EVM)
Understanding of government contract accounting (FAR/CAS) preferred for government contractors
