Principal Product Manager

Dark Wolf Solutions is looking for a Principal Product Manager who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment that builds cloud-based and air-gapped digital platforms  and services. The Product Manager will lead a cross functional engineering team to maintain and enhance enterprise Kubernetes platforms and services including ongoing technical sustainment of current and future packages. The successful candidate will help define the vision, strategy, and product roadmap for our customer, leading operational planning, execution, and continuous component-level maintenance. They will act as the primary champion of a product throughout the entire lifecycle from ideation and inception through development, testing, launch, release branch merges, vulnerability remediation, and ongoing enhancement. Further, they will serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, briefing both technical and non-technical audiences on progress, plans, and issue resolution. This role is based out of San Antonio, TX, but may be supported out of any Dark Wolf office location with some travel expectation. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the operational planning, establishment, execution, and evaluation of a multifaceted program/project while defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products.
• Accountable for project schedules, milestones, and deliverables; conduct project meetings, tracking, and analysis to ensure 100% package compliance, continuous security postures, and successful release branch merges.
• Create and prioritize the product backlog based on overall strategy, mapping out project dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development and agile workflows.
• Manage component-level maintenance, upstream synchronization, security updates, and vulnerability remediation for all assigned Big Bang and Platform One packages.
• Gather and translate customer business needs into technical product requirements, maintaining tight cross-contractor integration with Platform One infrastructure and innovation teams.
• Interact with and brief customers and stakeholders on both a technical and non-technical level regarding progress, plans, transition status, and issue resolution.
• Provide thought leadership and hands-on direction to product development and engineering staff using Agile methodologies, Cloud provisioning, and DevSecOps practices.
• Provide programmatic support including management of contract actions, financials, staffing, and conduct internal program reviews with Dark Wolf leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in product management, project execution, or systems delivery.
• Experience with cloud native architecture, digital platforms, and modern software delivery best practices.
• Hands-on familiarity with technical sustainment, vulnerability remediation, and package synchronization.
• Proven track record of value stream management and project tracking to deliver on customer success.
• Strong ability to communicate and brief stakeholders at both technical and executive levels.
• B.A. or B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Master’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Direct experience with DoD cybersecurity requirements and enterprise DevSecOps frameworks (e.g., Platform One, Iron Bank, Big Bang).
• Technical proficiency or background in JavaScript, Python, and SQL.

The estimated salary range for this position is $160,000.00 - $180,000.00, commensurate on experience and technical interview.
