WHY VEIR?

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, VEIR is a U.S.-based designer and manufacturer of category-defining superconducting power delivery systems built for the extreme energy demands of the AI era. By commercializing next-generation superconducting technology into deployable, real-world systems, VEIR delivers ~10× higher power density than conventional options, enabling “speed-to-power” where incremental optimization falls short. VEIR’s initial focus is AI data centers behind the meter, with solutions engineered for repeatable deployment through reference designs and integrated controls, designed to incorporate learnings as deployments scale.

The Role

VEIR is seeking a Sr. Principal Technical Product Manager to own system-level product strategy, roadmap, and commercial product execution across VEIR's superconducting power delivery portfolio — spanning both the low voltage (SL Series) and medium voltage (ST Series) product lines. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Product and is one of the most strategically important roles on the Product team.

The Product team is responsible for overseeing the requirements, development, and lifecycle of VEIR's superconducting products. Through close collaboration with our commercial and engineering groups, the Product team ensures that the products developed meet customers' needs and align with VEIR's business goals. The Sr. Principal Technical PM is the primary product authority for VEIR’s low voltage and medium voltage system platforms — translating data center customer requirements into precise product direction across both product lines, and owning the system-level requirements and product priorities that subsystem product managers build against — in close partnership with the Manager of Product Management, who leads the subsystem PM team and owns its execution — while serving as the product team's primary interface for commercial and partner engagements.

The defining characteristic of this role is a combination of deep data center electrical infrastructure expertise — spanning both low voltage and medium voltage distribution — and the product management experience to translate that expertise into actionable product strategy and requirements. This is not a generalist product role. We are looking for someone who has designed or operated large-scale power delivery systems and can engage as a credible technical peer with hyperscale, neocloud and colocation customers, OEM product and engineering leadership, and the broader electrical infrastructure ecosystem.

The role also reaches beyond the product organization. You will join the Chief Product Officer and Commercial leadership in client, partner, and investor meetings and presentations, serving as a key product and system-level expert whose peer-level engagement accelerates VEIR's go-to-market. You will shape joint development with OEM partners — defining optimal mechanical, electrical, and controls interface designs and specifications today, and building toward jointly developed power distribution products that incorporate superconducting in close-coupled, seamless configurations. And you will serve as a consulting expert to the Solutions Engineering team as it develops and iterates on LV AC, LV DC, and MV reference designs and applies VEIR's low voltage and medium voltage solutions to data center customer use cases.

In the first 3 months you'll

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of VEIR's SL Series and ST Series architectures, VEIR’s New Product Development (NPD) process, and the current state of the active NPD programs.
  • Establish working relationships with the subsystem product managers (LIN System & Controls, Cable Assemblies & Joints, Terminations & Junctions) and, together with the Manager of Product Management, agree the coordination model through which system-level requirements flow into subsystem product definition.
  • Engage with VEIR's active commercial pipeline to develop a direct understanding of customer integration requirements, site architectures, and technical questions that bear on SL and ST Series product definition.
  • Own and drive progress on the core product deliverables in partnership with the Manager of Product Management: business case, Product Requirements Document, guide specification, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) model, serviceability strategy, customer-facing product and use case presentations.
  • Establish the consulting relationship with the Solutions Engineering team, reviewing in-flight LV AC, LV DC, and MV reference design work and the data center customer use cases it serves.
  • Begin joining the Chief Product Officer and Commercial leadership in client and partner engagements as a product and system-level technical expert.

In the first 6 months you'll

  • Complete the full Preliminary Design phase product deliverable set for the SL Series in collaboration with Manager of Product Management and Product Marketing Manager, including application and use case presentations, product brochure, product presentations, guide specifications, product datasheets, and serviceability plan.
  • Develop the SL Series go-to-market plan and pricing framework in collaboration with the Manager of Product Management, Finance team, and Commercial team.
  • Update the SL Series and ST Series product roadmaps, incorporating inputs from the commercial pipeline, competitive intelligence, and engineering feasibility.
  • Finalize SKU structure at system, subsystem, and component levels working across subsystem PMs and engineering.
  • Lead the development of the partnership plan with key integration and OEM partners — opening the technical dialogue with OEM product and engineering leadership on optimal mechanical, electrical, and controls interface designs and specifications.
  • Guide the Solutions Engineering team's LV AC, LV DC, and MV reference design development as a consulting expert.

By the end of the first year you will have

  • Own end-to-end product accountability for the SL Series through commercial launch, including launch strategy execution and marketing plan delivery (PRM-055) in partnership with the Product Marketing Manager, while advancing ST Series product definition through the early phases of the NPD process.
  • Serve as the primary product team interface for strategic customer, partner, and OEM engagements — conducting technical discovery, interpreting site-specific integration requirements, and translating customer and partner inputs into clear system-level requirements that inform subsystem product definition.
  • Hold an established seat alongside the Chief Product Officer and Commercial leadership in client, partner, and investor meetings and presentations — engaging as a peer-level product and system expert to accelerate VEIR's go-to-market.
  • Advance joint development with OEM partners from interface definition toward productization — establishing the mechanical, electrical, and controls specifications that lay the foundation for jointly developed power distribution products incorporating superconducting.
  • Develop and maintain a competitive positioning framework for the SL Series and ST Series, including analysis of conventional LV and MV power delivery alternatives in data center applications.
  • Define the product scope and initial requirements for SL Series and ST Series follow-on variants or next-generation configurations based on customer and commercial inputs.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy interface with the Solutions Engineering team — serving as a consulting electrical infrastructure expert as the team iterates on LV AC, LV DC, and MV reference designs and applies VEIR's solutions to data center customer use cases — while ensuring that application engineering outputs inform, but do not substitute for, product-level requirements decisions.

To be successful in this role

  • You'll bring 10+ years of experience in data center electrical infrastructure and power distribution, with direct hands-on involvement in the design, specification, procurement, or operation of large-scale power delivery systems across both low voltage and medium voltage.
  • You'll have 6+ years of product management experience in hardware or infrastructure products — with demonstrated ownership of product requirements, roadmap, and go-to-market execution.
  • You'll have direct familiarity with hyperscale or large-scale colocation data center electrical architecture across both voltage domains: medium voltage campus and building distribution, 480V and 800VDC distribution systems, busway and cable infrastructure, UPS topologies, PDU and switchgear specifications, and high-density rack power delivery.
  • You'll be capable of engaging with customer electrical engineering teams at a peer level — understanding their site architecture, interpreting their integration constraints, and identifying the product requirements that follow.
  • You'll have experience developing product requirements documents, guide specifications, and product data sheets for hardware products.
  • You'll have a working understanding of applicable codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 110, UL, CSA, ANSI) as they apply to data center power distribution infrastructure.
  • You are an outstanding communicator (written and verbal) who can translate technical depth into crisp product narratives for engineering, executive, customer, and investor audiences — comfortable presenting alongside C-level leadership in high-stakes external settings.
  • You are highly collaborative — able to align subsystem product managers, engineering teams, and commercial stakeholders through requirements and influence rather than direct authority, partnering closely with the managers who lead those teams.
  • You are comfortable operating in Preliminary Design of a first-of-kind hardware program, where ambiguity is high and requirements are still evolving.
  • You are driven by results — you measure success in product launch readiness and customer technical wins, and you are relentless about clearing blockers.
  • You are committed to buying into VEIR's mission and goals and adopting our core value.

Prior experience at a hyperscale cloud provider, large data center developer, or data center electrical equipment OEM (in a product, engineering, or technical sales role) is a must. Familiarity with superconducting technology is not required.
