About the Role

We’re looking for a Principal Product Designer to build the next generation of Huckleberry’s mobile product offerings.  As a Principal Product Designer, you’ll lead and own design cycles that turn user insight into exceptional, intuitive experiences that delight and empower our users.  Our ethos is to create delightful, beautifully simple, and easy-to-use products.  If our mission and our approach resonate with you,  this could be your next adventure.

Areas of Responsibility

  • Lead and own end-to-end new product design,  ensuring solutions align with user needs and business goals
  • Create brand new products and experiences that solve user needs in creative, delightful, and innovative ways by deeply understanding user behaviors, motivations, and pain points, and advocating for user-centered design decisions
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to define problems, prototype ideas, and deliver high-quality experiences that ship to users.
  • Leverage data and insights to inform design decisions, validate concepts, and measure impact.
  • Maintain a high standard of craft through thoughtful use of design tools, such as Figma or Sketch, and a design process that showcases clear reasoning and user-centric decision-making.
  • Drive innovation by staying curious and informed about evolving design trends, technologies, and best practices, sharing learnings to elevate the team’s collective expertise.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of product design experience, with a strong focus on mobile app design
  • Track record of creating new products or experiences in emerging or undefined spaces
  • Deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility
  • Demonstrated ability to use data and user feedback to inform, validate, and refine design decisions
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with engineers, product managers, and researchers to deliver impactful user experiences.
  • Strong curiosity about new design trends, emerging technologies, and best-in-class experiences
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to connect design solutions to business goals and metrics
  • A portfolio that clearly demonstrates design thinking, decision-making process, and measurable impact on product outcomes

What We Do

Having experienced first-hand the toll of sleep deprivation and the lack of tailored and accessible help for parents, we set out to solve this problem in a new way with a team of sleep experts and data scientists.

Huckleberry's first product gets kids from newborns to 5 years old sleeping better and longer. After understanding your child's sleep scenario, our algorithms and sleep experts determine what will work for your situation.

Possible to achieve this without leaving your child to cry or medicating them? Yes indeed.
