About the Role
This is a role within the HARMAN Automotive Ready Care R&D team. An industry-first, HARMAN Ready Care manages your in-vehicle activity by monitoring your eyes, mind and vitals to enable improved driver and occupant mobility experiences, focusing on safety and wellbeing.
As a Principal Perception Systems Engineer, you will leverage your strong technical and programming skills to develop novel camera-based deep learning solutions. The job leverages your expertise in camera pipelines, computer vision and perception systems to ensure the performance and validation of perception features. You will work within the broader R&D organization, collaborating with various teams to optimize and validate camera-based features, to help bring new in-cabin experiences to market.
What You Will Do

Identify optimal algorithmic solutions that meet perception feature requirements using best practice development methodologies

Quantify the impact of image sensor and camera pipeline specifications on deep learning-based perception systems

Define performance metrics and perform quantitative analysis of the perception system performance

Design experiments and perform data collections with various sensor configurations, sensors and optics to understand various architectural trade-offs
What You Need
-
Master’s degree in a relevant area: electronics, computer science, electrical engineering, etc

7+ years of relevant experience
-
Strong C++ and python programming skills
-
Strong conceptual understanding of camera pipelines, computer vision, deep learning, and statistical analysis
-
Hands-on experience working with image sensors / camera systems as a part of design and development of vision-based solutions
What is Nice to Have

Experience defining requirements towards camera pipelines based on feature/solution experience

Experience in automotive product development

Experience in deploying and optimizing complex AI-based applications on embedded platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson, Samsung Exynos, and Qualcomm Snapdragon
