POSITION SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Principal / Quarterback who is proficient in all aspects of private equity deal execution and has demonstrated management and leadership potential. This is an early and critical partner track hire in a highly strategic area within B Capital, where we expect significant growth in terms of team size, deal activity, and AUM. We are looking for a strong, experienced investor who is also a business builder, leader, and mentor. Key qualities we are looking for are intelligence, investment judgment, maturity, initiative, scrappiness, resilience, hard work, and team orientation. We are looking for someone with ambition and humility.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
(i) formulating investment themes; (ii) formulating asset-specific investment theses; (iii) guiding, structuring, and managing due diligence and analysis (and sometimes rolling up your sleeves and getting into the weeds!); (iv) managing and mentoring teams; (v) supporting GP sourcing initiatives and sourcing opportunities independently; (vi) building and managing relationships with C-suite executives, founders, bankers, other investors and advisers; (vii) negotiating financing and deal documentation; (viii) managing investment committee process; and (ix) driving value creation activities post-investment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- College degree and demonstrated academic excellence in a challenging field of study
- 7+ years of relevant post-college work experience (MBA can count for 1 year of experience)
- 4+ most recent years of experience in an investing role in Software / Tech-enabled Services private equity
- Multiple experiences in taking deals from sourcing to final bid / closed stage, ideally in TMT
- Advanced quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, including financial modeling (the role will not require building models but will require being able to audit/supervise others and may require teaching others how to do it)
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills with proven ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships necessary for sourcing investment opportunities; demonstrated existing relationship network within TMT investing community
- Location: New York City (no remote option)
- 4+ days/week in office

Salary expected range: $200,000 to $280,000
Salary Range for New York Candidates only. The actual salary will be commensurate according to relevant experience.
