Title: Principal Operational Excellence Consultant
Location: Virtual, home based office with travel (estimated 80%)
(The immediate project for this position is estimated to be 6 months long, with travel to Seattle, WA)
Description:
The Principal Operational Excellence Consultant will transform client competitiveness, create new sources of economic value, drive revenue growth, increase productivity, and implement substantive change. This will be accomplished by utilizing continuous improvement, Lean and Six Sigma tool sets to analyze clients’ business strategies, assets, processes and existing technologies. As a Principal Operational Excellence Consultant, you will also engage in the selling of the value of Operational Excellence to both internal and external customers. Thus, identifying opportunities to improve processes and leverage technology to operationalize business strategy, and developing strategic roadmaps that support business and operational transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
Involved in the MCA sales cycle by preparing sales presentations, calculating change management needs of clients and writing statements of work for contracting MCA operational excellence resources time and deliverables.
Facilitate and lead consultative services to clients regarding their preparedness for enterprise transformation utilizing tools and techniques designed to drive and support industry best practice
Assess and document a client’s current culture, awareness, and adoption of best practice manufacturing and operational excellence techniques and integration with supporting technologies
Design and lead executive sessions with clients to define their cross functional strategic plans
Conduct and lead team sessions to define current and future state processes and value streams
Develop quantitative modeling of current business performance and future state design to support client growth and profit objectives.
Deliver presentation to senior executives regarding the ROI and value creation of engagements
Prepare strategy and high-level project plans for migration from current state to proposed design.
Identify and resolve issues pertinent to the success of projects, including change management, process change implementation, data flow, application implementation, and issue escalation and resolution.
Develop and present deliverables to senior executives and all level with an organization
Facilitate development of the KPI measurements of success
Building a framework for managing changes in client’s organization
End state defined: “what does success look like”
Create operational excellence training materials and programs to train and mentor other MCA Connect team members
Qualifications
Executive leadership skills to manage and develop change management staff
Excellent presentation and sales skills with ability to influence all levels of organizational structure
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
Minimum of 15 years of experience with an understanding of enterprise solutions
Experience with strategic business transformation or manufacturing with a minimum of 8 years in two of the following:
Industry experience in lean manufacturing
Strategic business transformation experience utilizing Operational Excellence, Continuous Improvement & Six Sigma tools (i.e. SIPOC, Swim Lane Diagrams, etc.)
Implementation of industry best practices to support business transformation
Experience implementing continuous improvement tools & concepts
Experience with ERP with a minimum of the following:
ERP general consulting or in production for a minimum of 10 years
ERP Master Planning consulting or in production for a minimum of 5 years
ERP lean manufacturing consulting or in production for a minimum of 5 years
Design of unique solutions for high mix manufacturing challenges
Integration of MRP into scheduling solutions across supply chain
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Solid skills with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
Software implementation project experience
- Ability to travel up to 80%
Desired Qualifications
Experience with lean manufacturing ERP solutions, Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement tools or Six Sigma tools strongly preferred.
Understanding of and ability to formulate adoption models for trends in operational excellence and business transformation.

- Minimum 15 years of experience with enterprise solutions
- At least 8 years of experience in two qualifying areas: lean manufacturing, operational excellence or Six Sigma transformation, industry best-practice implementation, or continuous improvement
- At least 10 years of ERP consulting or production experience
- At least 5 years of ERP master planning consulting or production experience
- At least 5 years of ERP lean manufacturing consulting or production experience
- Experience designing solutions for high-mix manufacturing challenges
- Experience integrating MRP into supply-chain scheduling solutions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong presentation, sales, executive influence, and consulting skills
- Project management knowledge and software implementation project experience
- Ability to travel up to 80%
