The Role

The Global Inline & Men’s team is responsible for leading our Global Inline Stores Strategy and serving as the Stores Marketplace lead for our Men’s Consumer Team. We define and drive the end-to-end Consumer & Concept strategy and vision, driving business priorities and brand impact, ensuring we can deliver the best of Nike to our consumers in our physical retail environments around the globe.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a Principal, Nike Stores Men’s Construct who will work collaboratively with the Global Men’s Consumer Field of Play teams and Nike Stores Global and Geo teams to deliver comprehensive seasonal plans, processes, and tools for bringing to life our Men’s business strategically and profitability across our industry leading portfolio of retail concepts.

The candidate needs to be deeply collaborative, have strong retail knowledge and be able to influence Executive Leadership to influence the Men’s store strategy. 

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

The Principal, Nike Stores Men’s Construct will set the seasonal vision for Men’s product, service and experience across Stores Concepts & our broader fleet; focusing specifically on Men’s Sportswear, ACG and Jordan. The Principal will partner with a highly cross-functional team across Marketing, Product, Merchandising, as well as Nike Direct (Membership, O2O, Digital Product and Operations) to drive end-in-mind seasonal strategies, tools, and processes that enable outstanding Geo execution and bring the concept strategies & toolkits to life. This individual will be the main conduit between leadership of our Men’s Sportswear, ACG, and Jordan teams and Nike Stores teams, responsible for providing insights & briefs for new opportunities within Concept, Service, and Experience Design and Development as well as providing upstream insights to Product Creation and Marketing partners from the Geos to inform future opportunities to serve the Men’s consumer. You will partner closely across Consumer and Marketplace teams to align Men’s product distribution strategy and serve as the Stores SME on Consumer Field of Play teams to ensure we can deliver against both brand and business requirements.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

The ability to collaborate cross-functionally is essential not only to drive the work forward but also for the day-to-day aspects of this role. The Principal will have accountability to key collaborators across the Men’s Leadership team as well as the Stores Concept & Consumer and the Store Development Leadership Teams. From a seasonal perspective, you will be working collaboratively with cross-functional Consumer Field of Play and Stores partners, including Product and Retail Merchandising, Brand and Consumer Direct Marketing, O2O, Demand Planning, Visual Merchandising, Membership and the NDDC teams to obsess seasonal planning across all store concepts. 

As the conduit between Consumer and Concept, you are also expected to partner closely with the Concept Leads and Services & Experience Team to ensure that you are powering 365 concept strategies, driving strategic growth, and informing/influencing/briefing future opportunities for concepts, services, and experiences. You will be responsible for ensuring the Consumer Product Concept visions are brought to life in our Stores, managing the requirements of both the brand and the business. 

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or higher; or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • Proven experience in a Strategy, Concepts, Marketing and/or Merchandising/Buying within Nike Direct or a vertical retailer; 8 years in Brick & Mortar scope preferred.
  • Proficiency in retail & profit-based metrics
  • Understanding of the end-in-mind and awareness on how decisions affect the product & consumer experience in stores
  • Track record of balancing art & science to develop productive, profitable, and visually compelling retail strategies that serve consumers, drive the business, and elevate the brand.
  • Dynamic leader who adopts change, is comfortable with ambiguity, and identifies ways to improve self & business
  • Comfortable setting and operationalizing functional strategy & process in a new organization
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills, across culture preferred, including meeting facilitation and presentations
  • Passionate about retail with a bias for action to turn emerging consumer & marketplace trends into business results
  • Understanding & experience of the marketplace at a Global, Geo, and Key City level preferred
