Positions in this function design, engineer, architect and manage the organization's infrastructure and operational platforms. From a cloud services model, this includes services commonly thought of as IaaS and PaaS and their underlying foundational components. This role must understand functional and non-functional requirements to ensure they can be achieved through system design and engineering to meet the needs of the customers. This role must demonstrate system engineering delivery through artificial intelligence/ machine learning instrumentations.
Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to develop roadmaps for their respective technology portfolios, resolve cross-system and domain dependencies, ensure effective integration among the services offered to the end customer, and efficient usage of infrastructure and operational platforms. Monitor technological advancements and industry trends to influence company standards and ensure that solutions are continuously improved and maintained through product management practices, including recommendations to invest in a solution or retirement of redundant or out-of-date systems. Understand the interactions between systems, the applications, and services hosted, and evaluate the impact of changes and additions. Perform analysis on existing systems to ensure performance and reliability, enhance scalability, meet security requirements, and interoperable and maintainable technology portfolio.
This role requires extensive knowledge around system engineering, Security, Operations and Modernization of middleware platforms. This role requires excellent analytical skill and problem-solving abilities while being a team player with excellent learning curve.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Architecting, Design, build, configure, monitor and support entire OptumRx Middleware platform hosted on-premises and on cloud
• Communicate clearly, effectively and confidently root cause analysis and preventive action plans while leading operation war rooms
• Engineering: Architect, Design, Build, Engineer, Deploy, administer, and support pharmacy and healthcare software applications hosted on middleware platforms such as but not limited to
• WebSphere, JBoss, http servers, and Tomcat platforms; Extensive knowledge of middleware platform hosted on Linux/Unix
• Operations: Perform Upgrades, deployments and provide root cause analysis for critical issues
• Modernization: Cloud and Containers middleware platform: Design, build and support Health care cloud computing platforms hosted on but not limited to Kubernetes, Azure Stack and Azure Public cloud
• Security: Enable heightened security and alerting mechanism around the middleware platform adhering to the security and compliance policies and procedures as laid by EIS. Monitor and optimize middleware performance and capacity using standard (Splunk, Dynatrace) and custom monitoring tool
• DevOps tools: Knowledge of scripting and enabling CI/CD across the delivery lifecycle using but not limited to Jenkins, Github, XlDeploy and other custom utilities
• Infrastructure as A Code: Should be able to automate through tools like terraform, Ansible or Chef
• Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning: Use Artificial intelligence like LLM, agentic AI, neural network concepts and tools in instrumenting Middleware engineering deliverables

This position is within Middleware Engineering team, responsible for Design, Engineering, build and Support (Operations) of entire middleware platform for our OptumRx Line of business.
Required Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in field of engineering, mathematics or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in design, build, configure, monitor and administer JBOSS, WebSphere, Tomcat hosted on Linux
• Experience with Linux commands and shell scripts
• Experience with any Scripting language
• Experience in hosting applications in cloud or have cloud certification with deep knowledge of cloud administration.
• Experience around ssl certificate management
• Experience in utilizing artificial intelligence/ machine learning technique and tools around middleware delivery lifecycle.
• Experience in leading operation war rooms.
• Demonstrated excellent learning curve - ability to learn new tools and technology in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Artificial intelligence professional or experience in using AI/ML models around infrastructure operations.
• Experience of hosting applications in Azure or AWS or google cloud - IaaS
• Experience with hosting application in Kubernetes
• Experience in standard monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace
• Experience with automation tools - Jenkins, XLDeploy and GitHub
• Experience with Terraform/ Ansible/ Chef
