Hiring globally and fully remote, we're a team of 60, and we're planning to grow to 100+ in the next ~12 months.
At Roamless, front-end isn't an afterthought, it's how more than a million travelers experience our product every day.
The scope of what you'll work on is genuinely broad. There's our B2B enterprise portal, a brand new product for a brand new business line, currently in its earliest stages. This provides real room to design it the way it should be done. You'll work closely with our PM responsible for it from day one, shaping the roadmap rather than receiving it, translating product vision into technical decisions, pushing back when something isn't feasible, and proactively flagging opportunities the product side might not see.
You'll work in a team of front-end developers, working closely with Product and Design. This isn't a role where you wait for specs and execute. You'll set the technical direction, define the architecture, and be the person the team turns to when the hard decisions need to be made. You'll still write code every day, we need someone who leads by example, not by delegation.
- Write and ship production-quality code daily using React, Next.js, and Node.js. Leverage AI tools as a core part of how you work.
- Own the front-end architecture across our B2B and enterprise portal where your decisions shape how we build, not just what we build
- Champion AI adoption across the frontend team. Model it in your own workflow and build habits that make it stick collectively
- Set technical standards, code quality bars, and front-end patterns for the team, be the person they look to when facing architectural tradeoffs
- Ship production-quality code daily using React, Next.js, and Node.js
- Drive performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability across all web properties
- Partner with the PM responsible for our web experience from early scoping through to delivery
- Mentor the more junior members of the team as Roamless scales
Must-haves:
- 8+ years of front-end development experience with deep expertise in React and Next.js
- Strong Node.js skills - comfortable operating across the full front-end/backend boundary
- A genuine belief in AI-assisted engineering. You already use AI tools in your own workflow and have a view on how to roll them out in a team
- A track record of architecting and owning front-end systems
- Experience setting technical direction and raising the quality bar in the teams around you
- Startup mindset: you make good decisions with incomplete information, move fast, and own outcomes end-to-end
- Experience working directly with Product teams in a cross-functional capacity. Comfortable challenging requirements, contributing to product thinking, and influencing decisions upstream of development
- Clear, structured communicator - you can articulate technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders without losing nuance
Nice-to-haves:
- Background in migrating or rebuilding web properties at scale
- Background working in a product-led, B2C tech company
