The Role

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Jordan Brand is growing, and we are looking for two talented individuals who are ready to chase greatness. We're looking for two Principals, with a focus on Sport Field of Play (FOP) and Streetwear FOP to join our Global Communications team, respectively.

  • Principal, Sport FOP Global Communications, Jordan
  • Principal, Streetwear FOP Global Communications, Jordan

The people in these roles will be responsible for building strategic communications narrative across the brand’s two most important areas of focus: Sport and Streetwear.

In addition to building cut-through messaging and positioning, the role will help lead, redefine, cultivate, and develop expressions of sport and style that challenge convention and permeate culture in new and inventive ways.

The output of this work should ignite purposeful conversations around Jordan’s most powerful stories anchored on the products and moments that make Jumpman one-of-a-kind.
Candidates need to be passionate about sport and culture and a desire to deepen and evolve Jordan’s sport-culture relationship across multiple audiences.

Individuals should be proactive, creative, and solutions oriented. Being culturally curious, sport obsessed, having an eye for design and trends, and an appreciation for art and understanding of popular culture is a must.
Successful candidates will bring a positive, team-oriented attitude, be curious, have strong strategic instincts and exceptional relationship skills, and be able to handle ambiguity to work across a global, corporate matrix.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
You’ll be part of the Global Communications and Purpose team for Jordan Brand, working closely with the FOP business leads, Marketing, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Digital and Integrated Retail Marketing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Jordan Brand’s Lead, Brand Voice defines, drives, and delivers world-class narrative strategy and creative concepts—obsessing storytelling with craft, taste, and scale.
  • Partner closely with teammates across the creative team and functions of Jordan Brand to develop strategic plans, impactful narratives and craft messaging that’s tailored to specific audiences, platforms and moments.
  • A nuanced expertise of sport and culture is a requirement. The ability to work in ambiguity, see the big picture, and collaborate positively with a large group of partners is key.
  • An authentic passion for Jordan Brand and evolving its role in the global cultural landscape is critical.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You'll work closely with communications peers across the consumer, product, brand and employee functions, as well as in partnership with Jordan Brand’s integrated, brand and sports marketing teams. The individual will also contribute to global and regional media events when necessary, as well as support, media train, and staff Jordan spokespeople (designers, athletes, catalysts, collaborators, and etc.) where relevant.
WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in journalism, PR, English, communications, business, advertising & marketing, psychology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years directly relevant work experience
  • Management skills including high-profile communications, strategic planning, budgeting, creative solutions, and agency management, with additional experience in developing proactive, creative communications, and extensive communications strategies.
  • Proven ability to communicate plans across a complex matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis.
  • Experience initiating and driving the ideation process to contribute meaningful, innovative strategies to the business at concept stage.
  • High aptitude for creative thinking balanced against bottom line business needs.
  • Successful experience working effectively with senior leaders and management, and a proven ability to provide guidance and direction to peers.
  • Proven cultural acuity and ability to work across large, diverse teams.
  • Experience as a company/agency spokesperson preferred.

We offer a number of accommodations to complete our interview process including screen readers, sign language interpreters, accessible and single location for in-person interviews, closed captioning, and other reasonable modifications as needed.
