About the Role
This position is a principal embedded DSP software engineer within the Lifestyle Automotive Audio division. Products that will be developed are OEM automotive amplifiers and other similar audio processing products. Products typically consist of a microcontroller for configuration, communication and control and a DSP processor for audio processing. Software development work will be mainly working within complex, multi-threaded, multi-processor or multi-core architectures and audio frameworks to integrate DSP algorithms and control structures.
What You Will Do
Design & implement audio feature technologies in C/C++
Optimize signal processing and audio algorithms for DSP and other processors
Evaluate DSP algorithm performance to overcome bottlenecks and resource constraints.
Setup and debug different audio software/hardware platforms.
Simulate, unit test and verify Audio Objects by audio analysis and signal processing
Create comprehensive documentation for Audio Objects implementation
Quickly pivot across different innovation initiatives including different programming languages (C/C++, Python, Matlab, C#)
Follow hybrid development models including Agile
Cross collaborates with different departments (Tools, Algorithms, Platform, Validation AI, etc.)
Maintain effective relationships in multicultural and multi-region environment.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering/sound Engineering or equivalent
Remarkable programming skills in C/C++ and well-versed in object-oriented programming
Minimum 3 years of proven experience in programming embedded systems (DSP & others cores)
Strong signal processing knowledge
Excellent debugging and creative problem-solving skills
Experience in algorithms design
Experience in digital audio processing
Flexibility to adapt quickly to different programming languages
Passion for learning, innovation and result driven mindset
Hand-on experience with task tracking and version controls tools (Git, Jira, etc.)
Experience working with formal software development processes and Agile framework
Proficient on verbal and written communication skills.
Bonus Points if You Have
MS degree in Sound Engineering / Signal Processing / Embedded systems
Deep experience on DSP processors like SHARC, TI for Audio processing.
Experience on embedded multiprocessor systems (SoCs)
Experience configuring embedded tools chains and building system
Experience with RTOs
Proven experience in other programming languages (Matlab, Python and C#)
Experience working with audio systems and software (DAW, audio interfaces, speakers, etc.)
Knowledge in AI/ML
