About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Backend Principal Engineer with strong expertise in Python or GoLang to architect and develop scalable APIs, system integrations, and data-driven solutions. This role requires close collaboration with Cloud platforms. The ideal candidate demonstrates a proactive, go-getter mindset, consistently taking ownership to identify challenges, propose innovative solutions, and drive end-to-end software development.
What You Will Do
Lead the architecture and design of scalable microservices and streaming-based systems.
Develop, review, and deliver high-quality backend services using Python/GoLang, along with robust data pipelines.
Establish and enforce best practices across CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), observability, security, and testing.
Collaborate closely with Cloud platforms and services to build resilient, cloud-native solutions.
What You Need to Be Successful
10–16 years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating sustained ownership of complex technical and architectural initiatives.
Strong hands-on experience in backend development using Python or GoLang.
Expertise in API design and integrations, including REST, gRPC, and messaging-based architectures.
Solid understanding of data storage and caching technologies such as RDBMS/SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL), NoSQL databases, and Redis.
Experience working with Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including architectural patterns, IAM, and networking.
Proficiency with core Cloud services such as compute, storage, and networking.
Experience with containerization and orchestration tools including Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
Hands-on knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Pulumi or Terraform, covering provisioning and state management.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and release strategies using tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins, including canary and blue-green deployments.
Strong focus on testing and quality, encompassing unit, integration, and contract testing, along with test automation.
Experience in performance tuning and scalability, including profiling, load testing, and capacity planning.
Bonus Points if You Have
B.Tech, Master’s in Computer Science, or a related domain.
Strong understanding of frontend fundamentals, including React or Angular, TypeScript, and HTML/CSS.
Experience with data analysis and deriving insights from data.
Hands-on exposure to cloud-native technologies such as serverless architectures, service mesh, and GitOps practices using tools like ArgoCD.
Familiarity with SRE practices, including incident response, runbook creation, and operational automation.
