About the Role
The Principal Engineer, Target Market Selling Price is responsible for Architecting competitive target selling prices system for HARMAN electronic & Acoustics system products across assigned markets and customers. The role ensures create an advanced fact-based market price positioning by analyzing competitor offerings, customer expectations, and market trends, and supports Sales and Program teams to enable competitive and profitable product offerings. The position plays a key role in shaping next‑generation pricing strategies by transforming price‑setting methodologies in line with evolving global market dynamics.
What You Will Do
- Market Price & Competitive Analysis
- Research, define and maintain target market selling prices for assigned products, platforms, or programs as the Architectural leader
- Draw the path towards Analyzing competitive products, customer benchmarks, and market price corridors
- Framework development for price positioning considering functionality, performance, brand, and regional differences
- Leading Transformation to Setup a systematic Price finding Methodology
- Owner of process governance to maintain structured databases for market price references and assumptions
- Leading Scenario analysis (best/worst/stretch prices) including projection pricing
- Manage strategic partnerships with external vendors
- Leadership of complex cross-functional pricing programs
- Cascading Target Price to internal cost initiatives globally
- Drive modularization, and standardization strategies
What You Need to Be Successful
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, Industrial Engineering, sales or related field
- 7+ years of experience in sales excellent, Market price strategist, cost engineering, product costing, or similar
- Prior proven experience on Automotive Market pricing, cost management, sales economy
- Deep technical knowledge on in passenger room electronic systems
- Strong exposure to Automotive RFQ, cost structures and product lifecycle.
- Analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Ensure sustainable knowledge Transfer globally and succession
- Proactive Consistent user experience and foster high adoption
- Beyond the line analytical skills in competitive benchmarking and price modeling; advanced Excel proficiency
