Principal Engineer, Functional Safety

Analog Devices industrial automation business unit is working to enable the digital transformation within manufacturing and process control. As we move towards the digital edge ADI have ambitious plans to support our customers in areas including functional safety and cyber security.

The team has an opening for an experienced functional safety person to enhance the functional safety capability already in the team and lead functional safety development on novel solutions at both the integrated circuit, software, and module levels across a wide range of areas including 3D TOF, PLC analog input/output cards, motor control, robots and emerging technologies. Many of these applications also need cyber security and you can’t be safe if you are not secure.

The ability to employ systems thinking and to collaborate with the lead Systems Architect and other domain experts is key for this role. The ability to work in close cooperation with cross-functional teams is important, as is presenting functional safety concepts to our customers.

While the core of the role is functional safety, our customers also need support in related areas including intrinsic safety, electrical safety, and cyber security. Existing knowledge in these areas is valuable but training opportunities will be provided if needed.

Your Qualifications:

Minimum BS/BEng in Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering; MSEE or MSCE
