Principal Engineer (AI & Central Command)

Sr AI Specialist is part of Smart manufacturing team at Nexperia Seremban. Nexperia Seremban assembly and test site is growing both in terms of volume and complexity becoming the largest backend factory for Nexperia. This role is for driving data and AI adoption in converting our factory into a smart factory. We work on 3 main pillars – Command & Control , Smart Decision and Automation. Role would be lead of command and control function but will influence all 3 aspects of smart manufacturing goal.

What you need to do?

• Deliver usable AI solutions assisting the factory in smart decisions spanning  equipment /process management, output management, quality management & people/skill/training management.
• Develop Self learning AI solutions to capture engineering knowledge in real time and build factory digital brain . Factory digital brain needs to work as Chatbot, training partner, key decision maker as well as smart machine process controller in multi-layer architecture.  
• Develop decision analytics, smart analytics within digital brain solution. Allowing engineers to run data analysis directly on bigdata datalake from chatbot
• Integrate image AI into machine control as well as for connectivity improvement, low level shop floor automation
• Train NexGem trainees on data analytics. Prepare next generation advanced analytics trained engineers.
• Drive real time analytics and data driven management via central command and central reporting implementation on bigdata.
• Drive discussions on investment and business value in steering committee meetings
• Deploy and monitor the solution. Ensure factory is supported in all shifts regarding data solutions availability for real time machine control.
• Be an innovation partner , connect with outside universities, thought leaders and help bring new solutions to Nexperia

What you need to have?

• Graduate Engineer – preferably in Mechanical or Industrial engineering or computer science
• Master’s in mathematics, Statistics or data science would be an advantage.
• Minimum 10-15 years of experience- spanning various exposure areas around data. Last 5 years dedicated to AI
• Proven ability to work with multi-cultural , multi-location  teams
• Experience in large project implementation related to Supply Chain management, factory scheduling, big data data lake architectures is a plus
• Proven track record of ability to ideate, develop unique solutions using data science
