Principal Electronics Design Engineer
Brief Description of Job Duties:
- Present product design solutions to customers at technical design reviews.
- Electrical design of FPGA, board, and system-level hardware. Support PWB layout activities.
- Create system, sub-system, interface, and protocol specifications from external and internal requirements.
- Support the creation of production and engineering test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
- Supervise product integration, verification, and validation testing.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The applicant MUST have the following qualifications:
- BSEE with 10 or more years’ experience in the design and development of electronic systems.
- Systems engineering experience working with internal and external customers to develop hardware and software requirements, solutions, and documentation for new products.
- Electronic system design and development using embedded GNSS and M-Code/SAASM GPS receivers.
- Experience in the electronic design of embedded microprocessor systems.
- FPGA design experience using a hardware description language.
- Schematic capture experience using Altium.
- Experience leading engineering development teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to obtain a secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizen.

- The ability to conceptualize complex, multi-layered electronic systems from the ground up, linking high-level goals to physical constraints
- Ability to interpret and visualize complex technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills
- Proficient in problem-solving and critical thinking
- Capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with engineers
Physical Traits and Abilities:
- Ability to sit at a desk or workstation for extended periods
- Manual dexterity sufficient for operating computer equipment and tools
- Clear vision (with or without corrective lenses) for close-up design and reading technical documents
- Auditory & Pattern Recognition: Critical for discerning subtle sound anomalies in power supplies, motors, or switching frequencies, and identifying variations in test signals during failure analysis
Additional Desirable Experience:
- Experience in the design and development of precise time and frequency reference systems
- Network design experience including Ethernet and Precision Time Protocol (PTP)
- Sensor fusion design combining GPS receivers and navigation sensors
- RF and low-noise design experience
- EMC/EMI design experience
- Experience in the design of embedded systems including SoC, SoM, & ASIC
- Reliability engineering including reliability predictions (MTBF) and Failure Mode Effects & Criticality Analysis
- (FMECA)
- Security Clearance
