Remote opportunity - Open to candidates anywhere in the greater United States

The Principal Data Scientist Advanced Analytics will have primary responsibility for all aspects of personal and non-personal promotion analytics and performance tracking using both secondary analytics and machine-learning techniques for assigned customer groups such as marketing and sales, including identifying and summarizing data insights of syndicated, secondary market data for performance measurement and market understanding purposes as well as running rigorous statistical modeling to evaluate various marketing promotions across omni-channels and perform sales force analytics.

Essential Functions:

  • Define, track and monitor the key performance indicators for various marketing promotional channels including ROI assessment and sales force driven metrics to better reach and serve the physicians and patients
  • Develop, lead and conduct predictive analysis and deep-dive analysis on omni-channel promotional impact, sales force effectiveness, targeting and customer segmentation to answer key business questions.
  • Synthesize statistical results into actionable insights and visualize the findings to enable compelling storytelling on brand performance and marketing resource optimization opportunity and present the recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional business stakeholders.
  • Support Director/Associate Director of Advanced Analytics to provide timely, actionable intelligence that influences the strategic business decision making of Lundbeck Leadership and ensure the evolving external environment and factors are incorporated in strategy development and tactical interventions.
  • Demonstrate full knowledge on product, customer and performance of the responsible product and by taking an interactive and participatory approach in Quarterly Business Reviews and tactical planning sessions. Provide analytics guidance on product's marketing plans including call plan targets, sales force sizing and media mix budget under supervision of Advanced Analytics leadership.
  • Work closely and directly with Brand Liaison, Sales and Marketing personnel in the development, measurement and optimization of product strategies and tactics, and will also interact directly with extended external brand team members and agency partners
  • Work seamlessly with other members of the Advanced Analytics and Omnichannel Customer Engagement team identify collaboration opportunity and increase operation efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage daily activities of vendor support or technical staff effectively by interpreting customer/business needs and translating to technical requirements for the team. Provides direct guidance when technical issues arise.
  • Represent company at industry conferences, sharing insights, research findings, and thought leadership on data science topics.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS:

  • Master's Degree in quantitative field
  • 5+years of advanced analytics experience for marketing, sales and/or commercial initiatives.
  • Demonstrated competencies across descriptive, diagnostic and predictive analytics.
  • Proven expertise in statistical modeling and data analysis techniques including cluster analysis, multivariate regression/tree-based analysis, unsupervised/supervised ML, Bayesian/Monte Carlo/Bootstrapping etc
  • High proficiency in programming languages such as SAS, R, Python, or SQL.
  • Demonstrated ability and expertise in manipulating, analyzing complex data and visualizing data via standard tools, automated process and charting methods
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights to all levels of management and non-technical business stakeholders.

  • Self-learner, strong critical thinker and problem-solving capability.
  • High proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Access/PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and complete deadline without direct authority and navigate in ambiguous environment and agility to adapt changing priorities of the organization.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • PhD in Quantitative field preferred
  • Previous experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech industries
  • Demonstrated expertise in prescription commercial data processes and reporting analytics
  • Experience with media agencies, data partners and analytics consultants to onboard data & analytics services
  • Deep understanding of pharma commercial data and application, including digital media data, promotional data, and patient-level data at most granularity level
  • History of successful performance and career progression
  • Experience with google analytics, adobe analytics or equivalent web analytics platform
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Able to identify best practices and contribute to continuous improvement
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations, and competitive landscape
  • Utilize machine learning and AI techniques to develop predictive models for targeting, segmentation, and optimization
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, managerial and leadership abilities

Travel:

  • Willingness/Ability to travel up to 50% domestically. International travel may be required.

The range displayed is a national range, and if selected for this role, may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's geographical location, qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. Salary Pay Range: $180,000 - $200,000 and eligibility for a 20% bonus target based on company and individual performance, and eligibility to participate in the company's long-term incentive plan.
