Senior Principal Architect – Data Engineering & Analytics
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Architect – Data Engineering & Analytics to lead enterprise data transformation initiatives, modernize analytics platforms, and drive data strategy aligned with business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine technical architecture expertise with strategic leadership, enabling organizations to leverage data as a strategic asset.
This role involves building scalable analytics platforms, leading data engineering teams, implementing AI/ML initiatives, and establishing data governance frameworks
Required Skills & Experience
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or enterprise architecture.
- Experience leading enterprise data platforms and analytics transformation programs.
- Proven experience building and managing analytics teams or CoE structures.

Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Architecture
- Define and implement enterprise data strategy and analytics operating model aligned with business objectives.
- Design target data architecture and modernization roadmaps for scalable analytics platforms.
- Evaluate and select data platforms, cloud architecture, and analytics tools based on cost, scalability, governance, and business impact.
Data Platform Modernization
- Lead modernization initiatives using Databricks, Azure Fabric, Delta Lake, and cloud data platforms.
- Architect and implement data pipelines, data lakes, and enterprise analytics platforms.
- Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability of enterprise data ecosystems.
- Build and scale Analytics Center of Excellence (CoE).
- Lead cross-functional teams including data engineers, BI developers, and analysts.
- Drive adoption of data-driven decision making across business functions.
Business Intelligence & Insights
- Develop enterprise dashboards, reporting frameworks, and data visualization platforms.
- Partner with business leaders to deliver insights in areas such as:
- Customer analytics
- Supply chain analytics
- Operational intelligence
- Financial analytics
GenAI, AI & Machine Learning
- Identify and implement GenAI and ML-driven analytics solutions.
- Develop solutions such as:
- Text-to-SQL
- AI-powered knowledge assistants
- Predictive analytics models
- Establish governance and adoption frameworks for AI initiatives.
Data Governance & Compliance
- Implement data governance frameworks, data quality standards, and compliance controls.
- Establish data contracts, metadata management, and access governance.
- Implement best practices using architectures such as Medallion Architecture and Unity Catalog.
Cost Optimization
- Optimize infrastructure and platform costs through capacity planning, data lifecycle management, and platform consolidation.
- Implement data archival strategies and performance optimization techniques.
Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with CXO leaders, product teams, and business stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into data architecture and analytics solutions.
- Provide strategic guidance on data investments and innovation initiatives.
