About Our Role

FAST is looking for a Principal Consultant to join our team. Our Principal Consultant will solution, position, pursue, sell, and capture large federal information technology service projects. You will lead teams to understand our federal clients’ challenges, architect solutions, develop competitive approaches, and deliver winning proposals that capture the targeted programs. 

This is a remote position that requires travel within the Baltimore/Washington area as well as to various U.S. federal client locations. Candidates must reside in the Baltimore/Annapolis, Maryland, Washington DC, or Northern Virginia area and be willing to travel to client sites within this geography.

Responsibilities

  • Engage clients to understand missions, challenges, technical environments, and desired outcomes
  • Lead solution design and architecture with focus on AI, low-code/no-code, DevSecOps, DataOps, UX, and cybersecurity
  • Communicate with clients and partners in person, by phone, email, and virtually 
  • Lead the design and architecture of winning solutions 
  • Assist with capture related marketing and social media
  • Drive captures from positioning and teaming through proposal delivery and win
  • Establish and strengthen customer and partner relationships to expand market presence
  • Lead Fusion Teams to deliver proof-of-value solutions and demonstrations
  • Manage and refine the capture pipeline to ensure disciplined pursuit of opportunities
  • Represent FAST at events to increase visibility and brand recognition
  • Act as a consensus builder internally and with clients, ensuring aligned solutions and strategies
  • Lead the team to deliver winning proposals to our federal and prime contractor clients
  • Work closely with internal pricing teams to deliver winning proposals

  • Change leadership to support technology adoption, process transformation, and organizational culture shifts

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to solution within the capture cycle and win large-scale federal IT programs
  • Experience working with large, heavily matrixed client and company environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and foster high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), detail-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Professional of unquestionable integrity, credibility, and character
  • Excellent client/customer relationship management skills at the senior level
  • Ability to analyze data trends, identify root causes, and translate into actionable requirements
  • Motivated, entrepreneurial, competitive, and solutions-focused demeanor
  • Strong desire to drive growth and win business
  • Military experienced candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance (Public Trust required initially)
  • Willingness and ability to travel to federal client sites across the Baltimore/Washington area and other U.S. locations as required
