The primary accountability of the position is to complete the transfer of our technology to deliver to our customers' UOP-licensed, UOP-designed units and third-party licensed or designed units ( including upgrade or revamp of existing units) so they operate optimally, profitably and safely. To do so, the Specialist will have regular interaction with external customers, and with other UOP and Callidus personnel involved in technology and equipment delivery projects. In addition to customer contact, the position provides interaction with all the UOP and Callidus departments involved with technology sales, engineering and execution. The interaction with other UOP and Callidus departments provides excellent exposure as well as providing knowledge of accountabilities in other areas.
The role will require regular communication and coordination with Service Managers, who are accountable for the Commercial relationship with the customers, and our field services team and/or contract service staff.
ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frame up technical scope of work for customer’s service visits, based on communication prior to contracting for service. Educate the staff which will conduct the customer as needed.
- Maintain existing and develop new Service checklists and best-practices for field support staff to reference while in the field.
- Ensure a path to closure on Service related issues, either directly or through technology updates with such opportunities shared with the technology SMEs and/or Sales teams.
- Update and maintain the UOP Service Portal with Callidus information so that customers can self-serve to a greater extent over time.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or related science area of study or 10 years of hands on experience within chemical or mechanical engineering working with flares, burners and heaters.
- Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to destinations around the world, as needed. However primary travel expectations are for North and South America.
- 5 years of internal or external customer facing experience.
