About the job:

We are seeking a Senior Functional Consultant with strong banking domain expertise to lead end-to-end requirements analysis, functional solution design, and business process optimization across multiple banking platforms and channels.

The role requires deep understanding of Retail and SME banking journeys, with the ability to integrate customer engagement, digital banking channels, branch operations, and loan origination processes into a unified solution, aligned to the Australian banking ecosystem and regulatory expectations.

What you will be doing:

1) End-to-End Functional Ownership: Lead requirement gathering, analysis, and functional design across:

  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) / Customer 360 / Sales & Service
  • Digital Banking Channels (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Digital Onboarding)
  • Branch Banking & Assisted Channels (Teller, Relationship Manager, Servicing)
  • Loan Origination & Credit Lifecycle Management (Retail & SME lending, collections)

Ensure seamless end-to-end customer journeys across digital, assisted, and lending channels

2)Cross-Domain Requirement Mapping: Translate business requirements into integrated functional flows across CRM, Digital, Branch, and Lending platforms. Identify and manage interdependencies such as:

  • Customer onboarding across digital and branch channels
  • Loan journeys spanning digital application, credit processing, and servicing

Ensure traceability from requirements → design → delivery artifacts (audit-safe)

3)Australian Market Alignment: Ensure solution design aligns with Australian banking ecosystem expectations, including:

  • Integration with external providers (e.g., KYC, ID verification, credit bureaus, payment networks, digital signature platforms)

Incorporate regulatory considerations into requirements, such as:

  • Responsible lending obligations
  • Customer interaction traceability
  • Data privacy and audit compliance

4)Solution Design & Functional Architecture, Define:

  • End-to-end customer journeys (Retail & SME)
  • Functional process flows, use cases, BRDs/FRDs

Drive OOTB vs customization decisions with clear business rationale

Work with technical teams to define integration architecture with core banking and third-party systems

5)Stakeholder & Client Engagement, Engage with:

  • Business stakeholders (Retail Banking, Lending, Operations)
  • Technology and delivery teams

Lead:

  • Requirement workshops
  • Gap analysis sessions
  • Functional walkthroughs and solution validation

6)Delivery Governance & Quality, Ensure:

  • Strong requirement governance and documentation discipline
  • Alignment with agreed scope, assumptions, and contractual baseline

Support:

  • SIT/UAT cycles with functional clarifications
  • Change Request identification, classification, and justification

What we are looking for:

  • 8+ years of experience as a Functional Consultant, Business Analyst, or Solution Consultant within the banking or financial services industry.
  • Strong experience in at least two of the following domains: CRM / CE, Digital Banking (Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, Digital Onboarding), Branch Banking, Loan Origination and Lending
  • Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document business requirements, including BRDs, FRDs, user stories, and process flows.
  • Experience designing end-to-end customer journeys and translating business needs into functional solutions.
  • Understanding of integrations between banking platforms, core banking systems, and third-party providers (KYC, credit bureaus, payment networks, etc.).
  • Experience facilitating workshops, conducting gap analysis, and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Familiarity with Australian banking regulations and lending practices is highly preferred.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and supporting SIT/UAT activities.
  • Based in Townsville, QLD or willing to relocate to Brisbane or Townsville.

Skills Required

  • 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in banking or financial services
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end requirement lifecycle across complex banking transformation programs
  • Strong end-to-end knowledge of lending lifecycle, including origination, credit decisioning, servicing, and collections
  • Hands-on experience working with Core Banking systems, CRM platforms, and Digital Channels
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage business users, technical teams, and senior leadership
