We are looking for a Senior Principal Backend Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing a next-generation AI-powered platform designed to transform critical processes within a highly regulated industry. This role will play a key part in defining architecture, scalability, and the evolution of mission-critical backend systems while collaborating closely with product, cloud, and AI teams.

We are seeking a technical leader with strong expertise in backend architecture, distributed systems, and scalable cloud platforms. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and evolving the architecture of a complex platform while ensuring high standards of performance, availability, security, and maintainability.

• Design and lead the backend architecture of a large-scale distributed platform.
  
• Build, optimize, and maintain high-performance APIs and microservices.

• Drive technical decisions related to databases, messaging systems, cloud services, and infrastructure components.
  
• Ensure scalability, availability, observability, and security across production systems.
  
• Integrate external systems through APIs, interoperability standards, and third-party services.
  
• Collaborate with AI teams to incorporate machine learning and artificial intelligence capabilities into the platform.
  
• Promote engineering best practices, code quality, monitoring, and performance optimization.

• 7+ years of experience in backend development and building scalable systems.
  
• Strong experience in backend architecture and distributed systems.
  
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing microservices-based architectures.
  
• Proven experience building production-grade APIs and integrations.
  
• Advanced knowledge of system design, scalability, availability, and performance optimization.
  
• Experience with AWS or equivalent cloud platforms.
  
• Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: TypeScript, Python, or Java.
  
• Experience working with event-driven architectures.
  
• Advanced English communication skills for technical discussions and collaboration with international teams.
  

• Experience integrating Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning solutions.
  
• Experience working in regulated industries, SaaS environments, or organizations with strict security and compliance requirements.
