As a Principal Attorney at Honeywell, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor, partnering with strategic business leaders providing proactive legal support across commercial legal matters. You will play a key role in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex commercial agreements, supporting business leaders throughout the contract lifecycle, and helping drive successful commercial outcomes while effectively managing legal risk.
In this role, you will work closely with sales, procurement, finance, compliance, and other cross-functional teams to address legal challenges arising from customer and business relationships. You will provide practical, business-oriented legal advice, facilitate contract negotiations, and develop solutions to mitigate risks while enabling business objectives.
A critical aspect of this position is ensuring compliance with applicable local laws and regulations, as well as Honeywell’s internal policies, governance requirements, and legal procedures. You will be responsible for promoting a strong culture of integrity and compliance, while ensuring alignment among local, regional, and global stakeholders on key legal, regulatory, and commercial matters.
Responsibilities- Oversee legal/business operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests and mitigate risks.
- Review and negotiate complex contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Provide legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on various legal matters.
- Manage external legal counsel and collaborate with cross functional teams.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Jurisdictional qualifications such as Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree.
- 7+ years of experience practicing law in corporate/governance environment.
- Trilingual: Portuguese, English and Spanish (advanced speaking and writing).
- Proven experience in contracts negotiations within global operations.
- Hands on and proactive.
