Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior / Principal Voice Product Engineer (ASR) with strong Japanese language expertise to drive the design and delivery of in-vehicle voice interaction solutions.
This role focuses on intelligent cockpit voice products, combining ASR knowledge with product requirements analysis, system evaluation, customer communication, and cross-team coordination, particularly for the Japanese market.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver automotive voice interaction solutions, with a focus on Japanese ASR use cases.
- Analyze product and customer requirements and translate them into technical and system-level specifications.
- Support ASR data preparation, evaluation, tuning, and validation.
- Define and execute ASR and voice feature testing, including competitive benchmarking.
- Perform ASR error analysis and work with R&D teams on optimization and issue resolution.
- Support end-to-end system testing, customer validation, and project delivery.
- Act as a technical interface to customers for requirement clarification and issue analysis.
- Collaborate with product, R&D, QA, and program teams to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
- Communicate effectively with cross-regional teams (Japan, China, and global).
Qualifications
Required
- Native Japanese; strong English communication skills.
- 3+ years of experience in ASR, voice interaction, speech systems, or intelligent cockpit products.
- Solid understanding of voice-enabled cockpit products (navigation, media, phone, assistants).
- Ability to analyze product requirements and communicate effectively with customers.
- Hands-on experience in ASR evaluation, tuning, or system integration.
- Programming experience in C/C++, Python, or Java; familiarity with Linux/Unix.
- Bachelor’s degree or above in a relevant technical field.
Preferred
- Experience with Japanese automotive OEMs or joint ventures (e.g., Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda).
