The Position
Analog Devices is seeking a principal analog / mixed signal IC design engineer for its Data Center & Energy (DCE) group in beachside Santa Barbara, CA. Within DCE, we deliver highreliability power, connectivity, and analytics solutions for modern data centers and energy infrastructure.
The successful candidate will lead the analog architecture and implementation of SoCs with significant mixed-signal content. This role is a recognized inhouse expert who operates under consultative direction, drives systemlevel tradeoffs, and influences product and IP roadmaps. This role leads complex, crossfunctional programs; mentors engineers; and makes decisions that materially impact product performance, schedule, cost, and customer success.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Own analog architecture and microarchitecture for complex mixed-signal SoCs; drive system-level tradeoffs across analog, digital, and firmware
Transistor-level circuit design and simulation
Understanding of device-level operation and physics
System and block level simulation
Lead mixed-signal design, verification, and sign-off; guide DFT strategy and silicon bring-up
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers; establish best practices and reusable IP
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (digital, firmware, validation, operations) to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions
Influence product roadmaps and contribute to innovation through patents, publications, and methodology improvements
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of Electronics, be self-motivated, willing to accept responsibility and show initiative in identifying and solving challenging technical problems
BSEE and 10+ years of Analog/Mixed-Signal IC Design experience
Understanding of semiconductor device physics and processing
Experience with IC product life cycles
Ability to work with large multi-disciplined globally distributed teams
Good interpersonal communications skills, and report generation.
Familiarity with lab equipment
Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, and thorough
Preferred Qualifications:
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience with lab prototyping and system-level modeling
Demonstrated experience of leadership on IC design projects
Working knowledge of numerical modeling techniques
Experience with ADCs, DACs, and serial communications interfaces
BiCMOS and High voltage IC design experience
Interest in methodology improvements and automation
