Position Summary

The Pressure Vessel Design Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and technical support of pressure vessels and related fabricated equipment. This role ensures all designs meet ASME Section VIII requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. The engineer collaborates closely with manufacturing, quality, and project management teams to deliver safe, reliable, and cost‑effective engineered solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pressure Vessel Design — Design pressure vessels in accordance with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 and customer requirements.
  • Engineering Calculations — Perform detailed calculations, code compliance reviews, and structural analyses.
  • Fabrication Support — Provide technical guidance to shop personnel during fabrication, welding, and assembly.
  • Drawings & Documentation — Prepare, review, and approve engineering drawings, bill of materials, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration — Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and project management to ensure design intent and production efficiency.
  • Material Selection — Develop material specifications and select appropriate materials based on design requirements, service conditions, and code compliance.
  • Continuous Improvement — Support process improvements, standardization efforts, and engineering best practices.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 2–5 years of design experience in metal fabrication, pressure vessels, tanks, or related industries.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII pressure vessel design requirements.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of welding, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
