🚗 Experienced Pre-Owned Sales Manager Wanted – Immediate Opportunity

Merrick Jeep Chrysler Dodge Inc., a proud member of the VIP Automotive Group of Long Island, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Pre-Owned Sales Manager / Used Car Manager to lead our Pre-Owned Sales Department.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Automotive Sales Manager who understands the used car market, thrives in a high-volume dealership environment, and knows how to maximize used vehicle inventory, gross profit, sales volume, and return on investment.

The ideal candidate is ambitious, competitive, dependable, goal-oriented, and passionate about developing a successful automotive sales team.

💰 Competitive Compensation

$125,000 – $150,000+ per year

Compensation is based on experience and is inclusive of commission, bonuses, and performance incentives.

What We're Looking For
  • 2+ years of Pre-Owned Sales Manager / Used Car Manager experience

  • Proven experience managing a used car or pre-owned automotive department

  • Strong knowledge of the pre-owned vehicle market and auction conditions

  • Experience with vehicle appraisals, inventory acquisition, pricing, and merchandising

  • Strong understanding of used vehicle gross profit and ROI

  • Ability to manage and control high-dollar used vehicle inventory

  • Proven ability to lead, train, coach, and motivate an automotive sales team

  • Strong desking and deal-closing skills

  • Excellent knowledge of dealership CRM and computer systems

  • Ability to analyze market data and make sound inventory decisions

  • Exceptional communication and people skills

  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines and department expectations

  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and professionalism

  • Competitive mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales goals

Key Responsibilities – Pre-Owned Sales Manager
  • Lead and manage the daily operations of the Pre-Owned / Used Car Department

  • Develop and execute strategies to increase used vehicle sales, gross profit, and market share

  • Monitor inventory levels, aging, pricing, turn rate, and profitability

  • Appraise, acquire, price, and manage pre-owned vehicle inventory

  • Evaluate vehicles for purchase and monitor auction market conditions

  • Manage high-dollar inventory while protecting dealership investment and profitability

  • Maintain the safety, quality, condition, and marketability of used vehicles

  • Review inventory and make pricing and merchandising recommendations

  • Desk deals and assist sales professionals with negotiations and closing

  • Monitor individual and department sales performance

  • Establish monthly sales objectives and develop strategies to achieve goals

  • Train, coach, and motivate sales personnel

  • Hold the sales team accountable for performance, customer follow-up, and CSI

  • Utilize CRM and dealership technology to monitor leads, opportunities, and sales activity

  • Ensure vehicles are properly marketed and positioned competitively

  • Maintain compliance with dealership policies and applicable regulations

  • Work closely with General Sales Management, Finance, Service, and other departments

  • Create a professional, competitive, and team-oriented sales environment
