The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a PR & Social Media Lead to drive the growth of our social and digital channels in building engagement with our customers, awareness of our brands, and share of voice within the beauty landscape. This role is ideal for someone who brings deep, hands-on experience across both PR and social media. This role sits within MECCA-Maginations team, where our owned MECCA brands come to life — built on feedback directly from the shop floor, real-time customer insights, and a front-row seat to the best in global beauty.

The Role You Could Play

You will lead the PR and Social function for MECCA COSMETICA and support on skin and body brand, kit: within the MECCA-Maginations, Community Team. You will be equally confident leading press office activity and shaping always-on, culturally relevant social content.

In this role you'll support the development of social media strategies for MECCA COSMETICA & kit:, leading content creation and coordinating the kind of thumb-stopping content that gets people talking. You'll be developing content calendars and making sure our channels (primarily TikTok, Instagram and Pinterest) are firing on all cylinders. You’ll also work closely with our network of influencers, talent agents, and industry contacts. This includes pulling together detailed briefs, managing content approvals, and tracking performance.

You’ll develop and execute press and pitching strategies that bring our brand stories to life, leading PR and influencer events and consumer activations in collaboration with the MECCA Events Team. You’ll also build strong relationships with top-tier media and industry contacts to grow MECCA COSMETICA and kit’s presence, oversee media databases and coverage reporting, and ensure every press moment — from events to guest lists and speaker briefs — delivers meaningful impact and aligns with our brand objectives.
 

What You Will Bring

Reporting to the Head of Community, this role is perfect for an experienced PR and social media professional. You'll be someone who has solid agency or inhouse experience where press office management, influencer campaigns, and social media strategy were part of your daily grind.

You know how a press office works inside and out and work closely with our MECCA-Maginations copywriter to ensure consistent tone of voice across all external communications. You've got your finger on the pulse of what's happening in culture, beauty, and fashion and will work closely with our design team to create PR materials and come up with press mailer concepts that stand out from the crowd.

You're great at building relationships with media contacts and can handle media requests quickly and helpfully, which means you build genuine connections. At times you will be working as a project manager, and you'll coordinate workstreams across different teams and stakeholders while balancing PR deliverables alongside always-on social output.

The role requires some out of hours and weekend work for major events, as well as travel for campaign shoots. In addition, out of hours social media channel posting and management is also a requirement.
 

You will also be able to demonstrate:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and advanced problem-solving capabilities
  • Outstanding organisational skills with proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Proven, hands-on experience across both PR and social media
  • Expert-level social media practitioner with comprehensive daily experience across multiple platforms (TikTok expertise essential)
  • Advanced fluency in social media language and cultural trends across all major platforms
  • Deep understanding of the social media and PR landscape across beauty, fashion, lifestyle, and culture
  • Strong writer and experienced in crafting high-impact media releases and pitches
  • Exceptional collaborative skills in fast-paced, flexible, team-based environments
  • Demonstrated passion for beauty, fashion, and the PR/social media space
