Primary Purpose
Identifies and originates large, complex, long-term power commodity, asset and energy transactions. Oversees all aspects of the deal-making process, including analysis, due diligence, negotiation and closing. Leads smaller or well‑defined deals from assessment through close, adapting structures to meet customer needs while protecting value. Improves existing approaches with insight from multiple information sources.

Identifies and originates complex, medium to long-term power commodity, asset and energy transactions. Oversees all aspects of the deal-making process, including networking, origination, analysis, due diligence, contracting and closing.
Leads smaller complex negotiation or well‑to defined deals from assessment through close, adapting commercial structures to meet customer needs while adding value to SI’s portfolio. Improves existing approaches with insight from multiple information sources.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops evaluation models and recommendation summaries for short‑listing proposals.
- Participates in negotiations for standard power and capacity agreements.
- Coordinates diligence across legal, finance, and operations to verify deliverability and risk.
- Prepares decision materials for internal review committees.
- Facilitates alignment among internal stakeholders by translating technical details into business implications.
- Leads small workstreams with defined deliverables and manageable risk.
- Researches public information about potential customers and/or competitors, analyzes data, and formulates recommendations to present to the management team.
- Keeps abreast of renewable energy opportunities and market trends impacting the future of clean power development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers.
- Leads defined portions of solicitations and solicitation responses. Coordinates communications for assigned products across working teams.
- Monitors market trends and provides synthesized insights from fundamental analytics to inform procurement strategies, identify trade / acquisition targets and guide strategy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred QualificationsRequired Qualifications
Education
- Required: Typically requires a 4 year degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Preferred: Master's in Business Administration
Experience
- Required: Typically requires 5 years of related work experience in Origination or Trading.

- Deal Structuring - Prioritizing the objectives of a merger or acquisition and ensuring that the top-priority objectives of all parties involved are satisfied, along with considering the weight of risk each party must bear.
- Deal Origination - The process by which firms identify investment opportunities.
- Financial Modeling - Develop financial models and valuation models to arrive at a valuation conclusion.
- Strong desire to network – Willingness to identify and originate deals from scratch.
- Participates in the execution of various strategies on RFP submissions and collaborates with other internal teams to achieve success.
- Travel to conference and customer headquarters to facilitate networking and deal execution.
