Power BI Engineer

SEI is looking for a talented and detail-oriented Power BI Developer (Software Engineer II) to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop and maintain scalable BI solutions using Microsoft Power BI. You will collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver insightful, visually compelling dashboards and reports that drive data-driven decision-making.

What you will do:

• Develop, publish, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using Power BI
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and produce effective visualizations
• Work with various data sources including SQL Server, CosmosDB, Snowflake, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and cloud services (Azure, etc.)
• Optimize dashboards with a focus on usability and performance
• Implement row-level security (RLS) and other data governance protocols
• Collaborate with business analysts to iterate reporting needs
• Build and Maintain data models using Power Query (M), DAX, and Power BI datasets.
• Provide technical support and documentation

    What we need from you:

• Very strong Power BI development skills including
  • Power BI Desktop (report development)
  • Power BI Service (publishing, workspaces, sharing)
• Strong T-SQL and Query Language for Cosmos DB skills for writing, debugging, and tuning stored procedures, views, and SQL queries.
• Strong Power Query skills (M Language)
• Experience in designing data set and configure connections with various source systems
• Experience in PowerBI fabric workspace and configuration
• Experience with data modeling
• Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for calculated columns, measures, KPIs

  What we would like from you:

• Bachelor’s (or above) degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• 3 to 5 years of experience with Power BI and Microsoft SQL Server programming or Cosmos DB
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
