Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and publish interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
- Build and optimize data models (Star/Snowflake schema, calculated tables, DAX measures).
- Work with multiple data sources including SQL Server, Azure, AWS (Redshift, Athena, S3),Excel, APIs, and cloud services.
- Implement row-level security (RLS), scheduled refreshes, and workspace management in Power BI Service.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Ensure data accuracy, governance, and performance optimization of reports and queries.
- Support integration with Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or other ETL/data platforms (if required).
- Stay up to date with latest Power BI and Microsoft Fabric features to improve reporting capabilities.
Mandatory Skills Required:
- Strong expertise in SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures, performance tuning).
- Strong hands-on expertise with Power BI Desktop & Power BI Service (reports, dashboards, apps).
- Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for building complex measures, calculated columns, and KPIs.
- Proficiency in Data Modeling (Star/Snowflake schema, relationships, optimized semantic models).
- Strong communication skills to interface with technical and business stakeholders.
Secondary Skills Required:
- Experience with Azure Data Services such as Data Factory (ADF), Data Lake, and Databricks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric and emerging BI/analytics tools.
- Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and orchestration tools.
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS (S3, Redshift, BigQuery) is a plus.
- Exposure to machine learning models integration with Power BI.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies for project delivery.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- 6–9 years of proven hands-on experience in Power BI development and data visualization.
- Strong background in SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence concepts.
- Experience working with large datasets, data integration, and performance tuning.
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate (Power BI) or equivalent certification (good to have)
- Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
